Blind spot warning on ambient light

I’ve noticed one interesting thing - maybe a locked feature of the ambient lights.
My current setting is “dynamic” (dimmed when driving) and the ambient lights set to light purple. One evening, when I stopped at a petrol station to buy water, car on standby (just parked), semi truck pulled in the petrol station, triggering the vehicle in blind spot warning indicator in driver’s mirror and the ambient light bar on driver’s side turned orange at the same time. This is something I saw in Teslas and maybe other cars, but I was not aware Mazda 6e can do it to (even though we all know it can do more than what we are actually allowed to have in EU). I would be really happy to have this feature working all the time, as it’s not the case when driving. The icon in the mirror, HUD and dashboard is okay but not as good compared to Mazda3 for example. Did you notice this too, is it working for you all the time?

Long range performance

Hello! I have standard range 6e since end of April and I did 1242km long trip (Belgium-Czech Republic) for the second time yesterday. Let me share some experience and findings with you.

Current total mileage: 10979km
Average long term consumption: 17.8kWh/100km
Departed with 80% battery
Arrived with 18% battery
Total charging costs: €120

PROS:

- overall performance and range improved, compared to the same trip before update (4 vs 5 charges needed to reach the destination).
- car was fully loaded (passenger, cat, full trunk).
- didn’t limit any other factor or functionality to achieve maximum comfort - AC always on auto/comfort mode, music.
- didn’t limit speed (always driving at the speed limit, some parts of Autobahn even 180km/h where possible).
- used only native navigation for battery range, charger location etc.
- charged always at Tesla or Aral Pulse chargers, up to 75-85%.
- charging speeds were always pretty decent, usually starting at 168kWh and dipping down as the battery charged.
- overall comfort - seats, ride, power delivery, acceleration…

CONS:

- the CTS after update is absolute garbage and very dangerous, especially when it steers itself to right lane, towards trucks etc. Unreliable when it comes to lane centering.
- had to use standard ACC with lane keeping assist, instead of fighting the CTS all the time, which is more tiring.
- there were two instances where the ACC started breaking abruptly on highway in 130km/h in straight lines, with no signs, cars, objects or other reasons for it to do so - very dangerous, as this was almost panic breaking.
- at some parts of highway with roadworks (80km/h limit), the ACC decided “let’s go 130km/h instead) for no obvious reason (no sign, no end of speed limit, no junction/exit/slip road etc.)
- I’ve completely lost internet connection in Germany, losing my current navigation data, had to stop and reset the car, which I consider a nuisance.

Not sure if I’ve missed something, please feel free to ask questions!

Edit: added total charging costs

Update made things worse

Hello fellow 6e owners! I have my 6e since April 2026, currently 9K km, all good - got used to the features and behaviour of the standard software version. Everyone was hyped for the update, especially because of the very aggressive driver-assist systems etc and so was I. Meanwhile, waiting for the OTA update to be rolled out in Belgium, I got actually quite used to the car doing its thing, especially on the highway, so it was very very disappointing to realise the update actually made it worse for me.
The CTS is completely useless now (unable to center within the lane margins, constantly drifting to the right, triggering “TAKE OVER THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY” nonstop), reading speed signs incorrectly or from side or slip roads, instantly reducing speed from 120 to 70, letting you change lanes while not signalling without any resistance, the braking got very aggressive and abrupt etc etc…
Please tell me I’m not the only one with this experience. I would really get back to 1.0.0.0 if I could. It was not that bad after all…
