Pads shattered
Hi guus looking for some advice. Car just been serviced, 40000 mile so theyve done the brake fluid. When i picked it up the brakes had stuck on, not unusual for evs i know but this time they were properly stuck. There was a massive clunk as i was reversing out, when i stopped there was bits of brake pad all over the wheels.
When ive gone back in, theyve said new pads are required and tried to charge me for them. I told them to jog on, and the manager has agreed to go halves on replacing the pads. He said pads become brittle over time, and its a wear and tear part so they cant replace them under warranty.
The question is, do you think this is right? The pads left bits stuck to the rotors, this isnt normal and i think in cleaning it or servicing the brakes theyve done something. Or are they in the right?
