Recommendations for 12V battery

Car is KIA EV6, Earth model from 2022 with 93.000km

12V battery is still a stock one, Delkor Clarios and never gave me a bother.

Tested this morning with power OFF, it showed 11.3V.

Once car was ON and tested again, it was charging it and it was showing 13.4V

Not sure if battery is dying already, but genuinely surprised it’s still running.

Question is, based on the information above is the battery on its way out and should I replace it? Going for a long EU travel next week and don’t want to get stuck somewhere.

Looking also for any recommendations and have you gone with AGM?

Manual Pre-Conditioning Module is available

I have zero ties to this group, other than following the development process.

The 'beta' version of the manual Pre-Conditioning Module is now available.

A Question from a Potential First Time EV Buyer

Hi everyone, I'm a 23 y/o who's currently driving a '24 mustang but realized I should've gotten an EV because how it (ideally) would've fit into my life. I don't pay utilities, I have a 21 mile daily commute and free charging at work (level 1) and home with a level 2 a couple blocks down from my home and would have 22 hours a day total to charge my vehicle.

I'm looking at a '26 EV6 GTL AWD, I really like the interior redesign as the previous version were not quite my speed despite the exterior design of the car being absolutely beautiful.

I guess what I'm here to say is, is it really as easy as I think living with an EV? It seems almost too good to be true and I think that's why I'm so nervous to make the jump from gas to electric, alongside obviously never having lived my day to day life with an EV. What have been your guys' experiences, please tell me the good and bad( I'm aware of the ICCU issues that effects a small portion of the vehicles).

Thanks or any and all replies in advance.

In Canada, received my ICCU warranty extension!

No issues with ICCU a of yet, but had the car parked at a Park'nFly, picked it up late, dusk, did not notice a big ding in the passenger door🤬.

However, not getting any heat or AC but the car is pulling power to operate the heat pump based on the EV Power Consumption range change when selecting heat or AC, seems to be a mechanical issue with valves controlling air flow direction and/or coolant loss according to AI.

Anyone have this issue?

Twinsies! Kinda.

My EV6 parked next to coworker's IONIQ 6 (a couple years older) for the first time. Easier to spot the differences, including the faux grille on the Kia. Of course, hers is also sloped more like a coupe and mine is more crossovery.

Also wondered for the first time what the little glowing orange light on her dashboard was. I just Googled, and learned it shows that the car is charging the 12V battery from the high voltage battery.

[Edit: Corrected model of coworker's car. I am much less familiar with Hyundais.]

First EV

Picked up my first EV and spent the day driving it around. Absolutely delighted with it and such a nice driving experience but very easy to speed in. You don't even realise your speed it's so effortless. Haven't sorted a charger yet so am definitely open to suggestions. Thinking about a Zappi but won't rule anything out. Cheers for all the info on here, it's been great to be able to read some real works experiences and comparisons.

Charging habits for 1,800 mi per month

I am in sales and average about 1,800 miles per month. I drive a 2022 EV6 AWD Wind.

Most trips allow me to leave the house, and return home to charge on my level 2 charger.

I charge to 100% at home after every trip.

Am I doing this right, or should I be charging in a different manner?

256kW at Tesla Supercharger

A true v4 supercharger just opened to non-Teslas near us (Campbell, CA) and in a quick test starting at 48% SOC I hit 256kW at 53% SOC on our 2025 EV6. It dropped to about 180kW at 55% SOC.

This is an urban charging station, but hopefully more of these will start to become available for road-tripping.

First time using the NACS adapter and I didn’t work

I’m in a rural town with one level 2 charger. The CCS charger was out of order to I tried the NACS with the oem adapter. I plugged it in and the charger bars flashed and the car said “charging unsuccessful”. I unplugged everything and tried again and got the same message. Is it because it is level 2 and the adapter supports DC fast charging? My friend has used her NACS to CCS adapter to level 2 charge her Tesla at my house several times. Or, is it more likely just an issue with the charger itself?

EV6 Deals Post 2026 Launch

I’ve had my eye on a GT-Line AWD for a couple months - either 2025 or 2026, whichever gets a better deal. I’m a bit concerned that even with the 2026 being released and going on sale, it doesn’t seem like the 2025 is being depreciated in value at all.

I’m certainly trying to go as low as I can, but I was targeting sub $40k for an EV6 GT-Line (don’t blame me, I got wowed by all the bells and whistles but I have Wind money) if at all possible. It seems like the $10k Kia Cash deals aren’t being applied to the 2026, (from what I can see on dealer sites) and for this trim/drivetrain my cheapest options are hovering around $47k.

Do we expect prices for either model year to fall at all in the next few months? Or would I be better off hoping a used one shows up (unlikely given how early we are for used 2025s to be popping up)?

I’m a first time car buyer and EV owner, so any thoughts on how those financials tend to roll or cool resources to check out are welcome! Hoping to join the club sometime soon 😎

Accuracy of charging time in trip plan...

I'm new to EV charging in general, and I understand there are many factors that determine charging rate, I'm just curious how real the charging time estimate is in the trip planner. Is there a way to force ABRP to assume a specific rate?

Accident Question

4 days after I picked up my ev6 from being rear-ended, a lady merged into my driver side and pushed me into the curb. Everyone was okay. Almost every surface below the glass on the driver side is dented or all scratched. The hood also has a dent in it. The passenger side has a blown out tire and two messed up rims.

Question...should I start looking for a new car? The damage to the bumper area alone cost insurance $9,500 (last accident). I'm in Ohio and they use Cost of Repair + Salvage Value ≥ Actual Cash Value to determine a total. It is a lease*

Coolant leakage?

Has anyone had an issue with the coolant leaking? I have a ‘22 GT-Line and just found out that I have basically no coolant in the car at all. The dealership put it up on the lift and can see coolant residue around the bolt holes for the undercarriage panel. It’ll be a week or two before they can look at it to start diagnosing what is actually happening.

I joined the club!

Picked up this 2023 Wind last night. Getting my home charger installed on Friday. First EV, first car in a long time that’s not a third row or big SUV. Very much looking forward to driving something sportier again.

Looking for 5 EV6 owners with an OBD-II adapter to help me nail EV6 preconditioning detection (iOS beta)

Hello r/KiaEV6,

I'm Greg, the developer behind IONIQ 5 Companion (original announcement here). Version 2.0 is in beta, and I'm working to add official Kia EV6 support. The app trended as high as #3 in App Store Utilities last week.

The ask: I'm looking for ~5 EV6 owners willing to capture a diagnostic log during a DC fast-charging session. The app currently has trouble reliably detecting when preconditioning kicks in on the EV6 (false positives and false negatives), and a few more real-world logs would let me nail it down.

What you'd need:

  • A Kia EV6
  • A DC fast-charge trip planned in the next 2–3 days
  • A BLE ELM327-compatible OBD-II adapter
  • About 1–2 minutes of setup, then ~30 seconds at the end to send me the log

The workflow: Start logging right before you turn on preconditioning → leave it running for the drive, the charging session, and the drive home → stop logging after you turn the car off → send me the file (10–20 MB)

What's in the log: Diagnostic CAN traffic, app state, charging-session timestamps. Your VIN is encrypted with my public key in the file — I can decrypt it on my end, but no one else can. No GPS, no personal data.

What you get:

  • Free beta access indefinitely (constant updates, new features)
  • A promo code for the v2.0 App Store release when it ships
  • Your EV6's data directly shaping how the app supports your car

Drop a DM if you're interested.

(Android folks — version is in development, hang tight.)

EDIT: Fixed link issue
