I have been researching getting a EV6
I have found a:
2023 GT-Line 2 AWD
28,000 miles
$25,000 out the door
It is Black with the “White Seat Package” which I love the looks of.
The battery state of health showed 95% using a OBD2 scanner.

Anything else I should check?

Hi guys. I’m currently debating purchasing an EV6 GT-Line or Nissan Ariya Platinum. It seems both cars have a potentially impactful issue, the Kia with the ICCU and the Nissan with the reduction gear.

My question for the ICCU is does it tend to pop while charging, or shortly after a charge session? Or can it happen anytime? I travel a lot for work and my kid is on a traveling soccer club, so wanted to gauge the possible impact it may have on us. From the posts I’ve read in this sub, it seems like it happens frequently after a charging session?

Just thought of this because I remembered my misadventures getting my previous car's battery replaced. The OEM Nissan 12v lasted for 7 years, then every battery I bought after that died just after the warranty period ended (2yrs on average).

My findings were:

• Walmart Everstart batteries SUCKED. While they had a great warranty on paper you f-ing needed it. All three of my Everstart batteries failed in a year. The second battery I got by swapping at the store. The swap took 2 hours as they had closed the service desk in the auto department permanently and the customer service desk at the front didn't know how to do the swap. Considering how long I waited for that replacement battery the first time when this one failed I swapped it again. (yea I don't care if it was theft or not. The amount of time burnt for a battery swap they owed that to me).
• Autozone's lasted 3 years. I believe it was a Duracell. Not great, but about average from what I've heard.
• O'Reilly's Superstart: brand was what I put in to sell the car to a friend in need. I've not heard that they've had an issue and it's been more than 3 years now.
• Costco: Couldn't get one of these for my nissan each time I needed it (both in my area were out of the battery), but used one in my wife's car. It's 4 years old now and still going strong.

So the question is, of AGM cells, which brands are better built? I know the popular opinion is "all batteries are made the same", and I know that's a load of crap.

I've had my 26 GT-line for 2 months now and the car frequently doesn't register the key fob. I've tried both of them, replaced batteries etc. Sometimes if I have the fob in my pocket and push the door unlock it doesn't work, then 10 minutes later it works. Today it unlocked the door but wouldn't start the car even when I put it on the phone charger and I had to put the digital key there. I'm taking it in to the dealer next week, I'm assuming it's a car problem, not a key fob problem.

One thing I noticed when I tried going keyless and using the digital key is that I have to open the app and put the phone on the phone charger in order for it to work, so I have to take my phone out of my pocket every time which makes it as bad as the key fob. Is it supposed to work like that or should the car recognize it in my Google Wallet without having to start the app?

I live along the Front Range of northern Colorado and travel into Denver occasionally. We have a ton of EV's here in general and pretty good infrastructure for charging already in place. I see other EV6's occasionally but not a lot. We went to Seattle last week and I swear I saw more EV6's in the week than I've seen in a year here? How often do you see fellow EV6 owners in your location?

Just tried buying an EV6 at a Kia dealer. They told me there was no way to pull a state of battery health on a used EV6 and went so far as to call me a liar.

Am I in the wrong here? Trying to buy my first EV. Can they really not pull this?

Hey all. I'm on the market for a 22/23 ev6. There's a good few around but I'm not sure if there is a standard top spec or if I should be looking for one that has some good, worthwhile added extras.

I was originally looking at GTs but they're a bit out of my price range so ideally I'd like to get a really top spec Line S. Any help appreciated

I’ve got 2025 LLR for about 6 months now. I charge at home all the time (always be charging) and mostly battery stays above 50%.

On a few longer trips battery has gotten down to 20% or so. Long overnight charge at home back to 80% and life goes on.

Today I’m doing a longer drive on highway (lower efficiency than local driving) and heading home. I’m almost home at 31% and then I get LARGE warning on dash:

HV battery low, charge soon

I don’t think I’ve ever seen this warning, and I know I’ve had the car under 31% before. I had no route planning on since I was local and knew exactly where I’m going and I’ll be home in minutes.

Does the EV6 ever warn you that HV battery is low? Is there are setting for what threshold % it does this?

Anyone have any idea if there's even a chance the ev6 might come back to Canada?..I know they stopped because of the tariffs etc but sadly the one I was interested in got sold and there's none left in my province.. just wondering if I should just give up and look at something different

Since I know some folks will be debating their next steps whether to buy our their lease or trying to decide between trim options, wanted to give some extra data points to help.

We decided to buy out our 2 year lease for a 2024 AWD Wind w/ tech package. I hemmed and hawed quite a bit between other EV6 trims and years, the EV3, other makes (subaru, cadillac, audi, volvo), but in the end, decided to just keep it simple and buy ours out.

We had a $32,277 residual, and thankfully could take advantage of the 'Keep Your Kia' program for an additional $3800 off, for a 28477 price tag.

14,000 miles on the car, and we barely did any fast charging, couldn't find any comps that were either a bit more for similar mileage.

Things that helped us decide to keep it:

1. Solid price compared to local (and reasonable) comparision
2. keeping it simple
3. low mileage
4. AWD and tech pacakge had almost all the upgrades a GT-line would have

Things that was on my wishlist:

1. the tech refresh of the 25'

2. AWD verus RWD

3. slightly different color
