ICCU Question

Hi guys. I’m currently debating purchasing an EV6 GT-Line or Nissan Ariya Platinum. It seems both cars have a potentially impactful issue, the Kia with the ICCU and the Nissan with the reduction gear.

My question for the ICCU is does it tend to pop while charging, or shortly after a charge session? Or can it happen anytime? I travel a lot for work and my kid is on a traveling soccer club, so wanted to gauge the possible impact it may have on us. From the posts I’ve read in this sub, it seems like it happens frequently after a charging session?

Truck Suspension Repair Shop

I’m at my wits end with my 92 F150. I’ve replaced my ball joints, tie rods, and steering box but the steering is still incredibly sloppy. Can anyone recommend a good suspension shop in the county that works on older model vehicles? Thanks in advance.

Steering Rattle/Shimmy Low Speeds

Hi all. I bought a 2017 Bolt Premier 6 months ago. Good little car, however I’ve noticed in the past month that I have a rattle that feels like it’s in the steering column when I’m traveling at low speeds on a bumpy road. Any ideas? Car has 65,000 miles. It makes a rattling sound and there’s play in the steering it feels like. Would this be the U joint at the bottom of the column that be loose?

Do 2025 and newer models have a V2L 240v outlet?

Hi all. I was reading an article recently that stated the 25’ model has 12kw output. Does it utilize a 240v outlet for that or a 240v V2L adapter for the charge port? I’m specifically looking for an EV that I can plug in to my generator inlet and transfer switch to power my home when we lose power, instead of wheeling my portable generator out.

Thanks!

V2L to Generator Inlet?

Hi folks. I’m seriously considering a 2024 BlazerEV, Equinox EV, or Lyriq. I currently have a reservation for the R2 but having a hard time justifying the cost when compared to a used Ultium model. However, before I seriously start to shop for a vehicle, I wanted to see if someone can answer my questions around V2L. I’ve searched the forums but can’t seem to find a specific answer to my situation.

I currently have a generator inlet and transfer switch, which I use when my home loses power about during winter. It’s frequent enough that I have a generator that I wheel out and plug in to the inlet. I would love to just be able to use my car in these situations. Is it possible to use the GM platform for this? Would I need the 19.2kw onboard charger for this with the GM Power Bar? Or would the normal 11.5kw onboard charger work?

Thanks in advance!

Software Updates?

Hi all. I’m cross shopping between a 23/24 GT Line and a Blazer EV. It seems GM updates the software pretty regularly for the Blazer through OTA updates. Does Kia do the same for older EV6’s? I understand they’ve moved to a new infotainment for current model years, which gives me some pause on a used EV (along with the ICCU issues). I really like the styling of the car, though. Appreciate any insights!
