AITK for refusing to pay for tests I never agreed to?

Took my cat in last Thursday for a dental clean, which we'd been putting off for about a year because she's 11 and I was nervous about the anesthetic. I got an estimate at the consultation 2 weeks before, 340 for the clean and up to 480 if she needed extractions, and I signed it and initialed the box that says contact me before any additional treatment. I was pretty deliberate about that bit because a friend of mine got hit with a huge bill at a different practice last year and for once in my life I actually read the form.

I picked her up at 5 and the bill was 622. There's the dental, 2 extractions which is completely fine and expected, and then pre-anesthetic bloodwork at 89 and a full urinalysis at 64 that nobody had mentioned to me at any point.

I asked about it at the desk and the receptionist told me they'd tried to call. I'd had my phone on me all day, no missed calls, no voicemail, nothing. She said the vet sometimes calls from the back line and it doesn't always show up properly, so I asked whether there was a note on the file about the attempt, and she said she'd have to check with someone.

I paid the 480 I'd agreed to and said I wasn't paying the remaining 142 until somebody could show me a record of that call. The practice manager called me the next morning and said the tests were clinically appropriate for a cat her age, which I genuinely don't doubt, and that they can't un-run a test.

AITA for refusing to go to my boyfriend's mom's house after I saw this text on his phone

been with my bf (26M) for 8 months. his phone was on the kitchen counter and a text from his mom came through while he was in the shower. it was long enough that I could read most of it off the lock screen.

her text:

"I've been thinking about this for a while and I just want you to have this so we're on the same page. These are things that matter to me for whoever you end up with long term:

She needs to come from a good family. I don't want drama

No more than 2 tattoos and nothing visible in a dress

She has to be willing to host Christmas at OUR house not hers

She needs to want kids within a few years of marriage don't waste your 20s

She should NOT be making more money than you it causes problems trust me

Sunday dinner here at least twice a month, this is not optional

Church on Easter and Christmas MINIMUM

No girls who have lived with a boyfriend before

I want to meet her parents before you get serious

She needs to know how to cook a real meal not just doordash every night

I'm not trying to be difficult I just don't want you making the same mistakes your brother did. Love you"

when he got out I asked him about it. he kind of laughed and said "yeah she does stuff like that" and tried to change the subject. I told him I didn't think it was funny and he said I was reading too much into it. said she's "old school" and doesn't mean anything by it.

I told him I'm not going to sunday dinner at his mom's house anymore. not until he actually talks to her about it. he got really upset and said I'm making him choose between me and his family over a text message and that I'm blowing this out of proportion.

we've been going back and forth for three days now. he keeps saying she'll warm up to me on her own and I just need to give it time. but I already don't meet like half the things on that list so what exactly am I giving time for??

aita?
