Am I wasting my time?
I bought some trees recently, everything seemed legit. Can provide more info but want a no BS “should I cut my losses” assessment.
I’ve never seen so few roots on something dug up. Yes first picture is out of focus, but that is what I could gently separate from pot. Most had 2 cut large roots mostly horizontal.
They were about 6 feet tall between 1-2 inch main trunk. Zero leaves other than pictured.
I’m assuming these won’t survive even if managed perfectly, most of them have large horizontal cut tap roots making it seem like they were suckers that were dug up.
Hard to plant appropriately deep due to lack of mass below ground, and I’m assuming burying crown would be absolutely catastrophic.
Should I even attempt to save them/put effort in?
