What's up with the AI ​​in Hello Neighbor Alpha 1?

So, I'm playing Hello Neighbor Alpha 1, and for some reason my neighbor just stands there. He moves if I get close, but not always. I don't understand what's wrong with him; he just stands there without moving. Is this some kind of new bug? I've never had this before. Has anyone else seen this bug? It's honestly a bit creepy.
