How much construction paper should I buy?

Taking over for a retirement and all the paper is faded or 9x12 and I tend to only do 12x18 sized projects 😅 trying to stretch a $900 budget for ~300 kids and I only ended up buying 3 of each 50 pack of construction paper. Last year I was so spoiled and used so much construction paper. Tell me I’m being crazy buying so little. The supply I prioritized was my 80lb sulfite paper

Becoming an art teacher in California?

Becoming an art teacher in California?

Currently I am an art teacher in Massachusetts certified pk-12 on my initial license with a Masters of Arts in teaching. I want to apply for a single subject cert in art for my impending move to California (July 2027). As of right now I have one year of teaching under my belt so it looks like I have to apply for a preliminary credential (but if I wait until the end of this upcoming school year I can apply for a clear credential).

Just looking for any help at all, I thought it would be straightforward because I have competency in both art and education through my degrees but now it looks like I still may need to take a course? I’m applying route one, I’m just scared something else may pop up.

Also, should I just wait until the end of this year and apply for my clear credential? I want to start the process and get my license now so I can look for jobs over this school year before my move next year. If I apply prelim I would have to do a two year teacher induction program and would essentially waste a year not living/working in California but the benefit is I could apply for jobs right away. I assume I could do a fast track one year induction program considering I am completing an induction program in Massachusetts.

Accepted a position and was offered another

I accepted a .7 position at a school a few weeks ago, and signed my contract last week. I never really intended to work there because it’s a 40 minute commute solely on backroads and I want a 1.0 position.

Just now I got the call offering me a job 20 minutes away and 1.0 (yay!).

I feel bad/guilty backing out on the first job. In the contract I signed it stated that employment was contingent on fingerprinting (which I haven’t done) and certs (which I never sent in) and that resignations are expected 60 WORK days prior ( technically as I write this it is 60 regular days prior to the school year starting)

Just looking to hear if anyone has done this / any advice. I’m in MA if it makes any difference.

I haven’t been there in months but I used to go weekly. Genuinely so sad everyone who worked there was so kind
