Accounting UQAM to HEC Msc finance (chances? pre-requs?

Hi,

I am graduating from UQAM this winter 2027 with internships at Aliaxis + BNP Paribas + KPMG with a 3.45/4.3 GPA, with no Cal l, Cal II, or linear algebra, what are my chances?

On the website, HEC montreal usually explicitly mentions pre-req. like Cal l, Cal ll or linear algebra BUT for the MSC it only mentions a bachelor's degree with 90 credits, would I be eligible?

Even though it is not said, I would be inclined to think you would probably need those math classes, not sure since it's not said, but would I absolutely need to take equivalence classes for the math?

Do they consider the professional experience when applying (internships)?

Also I can show a medical note for my GPA being "low".

Thank you for taking the time and also feel free to answer based on facts, experience and not just opinions, please. 😄

Should I go for a Masters in finance after bach. in accounting?

Hi everyone, I am undergraduate at a non target school in montreal with great experience, 3 internships by graduation in winter 2027 with a guaranteed Big 4 job BUT need to do the CPA prep and all (3 semester part time - 3 courses) work at the same time.

OR

Should I instead just sign up for a masters in finance at Mcgill (3 semesters full time - 5 courses) can’t work at the same time. In the hopes of quitting accounting and really working in what I really want (IB, Corprate finance, PE, transaction advisory services)?

I am just scared that a masters means nothing and despite it being at mcgill I’ll get nothing in return I will be 24 when I graduate this winter, this is stressfull ngl.

Thank you

Hi,

I just started my 5th semester in accounting, planning on graduating in summer 2027.

I was wonder if for fall 2027 it would be realistic for me to be able to switch to TAS within KPMG with networking despite having a 3.2/4.3 GPA BUT with the following experience at graduation date:

  1. Ipex by Aliaxis - accounting operations (Internship) --> 4 months

  2. BNP Paribas - corporate accounting (internship) --> 4 months

  3. KPMG audit - intern --> 4 months

  4. KPMG audit - intern --> 4 months

Thank you!

Hi I just wanted to know if people wanted to share their annualized salary at any of the big 4 in montreal for audit or tax.

To get it started I have some information that :

  1. KPMG audit pays 62k for fall 2026

  2. PWC Tax pays 66k for 2027

  3. PWC audit for summer 2026 pays 56k (weird)

  4. DELOITTE audit summer 2026 pays 56k (weird)

Please share your salary as an intern as well so we can better negotiate and have a better idea since I wasn't able to find any reddit of this sort, atleast updated!

Thanks
