Does recording evidence count and includdd in LTB hearing?

I heard from my off campus advisor at my uni that although Canada is a one party state, meaning you can record without other person permission, that many times she has seen recordings not be allowed as evidence in LTB hearings. Also she said it could strain relationship with landlord (which honestly does not matter too much as he is a scammer and has strained mine and my other roommates relationships with him already).

Is this true? I am filing T1 I believe.

Are recordings often not allowed through in hearings?

Ontario - Joint lease with rental incentives

Reposting this but more simply and clearer. Three of us are tenants on one joint Ontario lease. The lawful monthly rent is $2,625. The lease includes rental incentives of $875 for May and June 2026 and $650 for July 2026, but it does not say the incentives are only for renewing tenants or identify which tenant receives them. I already paid regular rent for May to July and no discounts applied to those months for me.

Two of my roommates renewed from the previous lease, while I am a new tenant. They say the incentives belong only to them because they renewed.

I also signed a pre-authorized debit (PAD) authorization for a fixed monthly payment. The PAD says it only governs the payment method and does not change the rental contract.

My question is: If the signed lease contains these rental incentives but does not limit them to specific tenants, can the landlord or my roommates treat the incentives as belonging only to the renewing tenants? Or does the lease need to expressly say that for the incentives to be excluded from one tenant?

payment not discounted?

Three of us are named on one Ontario Standard Lease. The lawful rent is $2,625 per month, with incentives of $875 for May and June 2026 and $650 for July. The lease does not say these incentives belong only to specific tenants.

Two roommates were renewing tenants, while I was new. After I signed and paid $875 for each of those three months, they told me the discounts were theirs because the landlord offered them as renewal incentives. I was never told this before signing.

I also signed a PAD for $875 monthly, but it says it only governs payment and does not change the lease.

My question: can the incentives be treated as belonging only to the renewing tenants when the signed lease does not say that, or should the discounted unit rent have been divided among all three tenants?

Overpayment from ODSP before I got ODSP

Hey, I got overpayments from 2017 and 2018, before I was even on ODSP.

My ODSP worked sent A PAPER saying I had 900 in overpayments from those years even though I was not on ODSP then, only since 2020.

It was because of special diet, it says:
You received more social assistance than you
were allowed to receive because there was a
change in the status of a family member.

● You received more money for your housing costs
than you were allowed to receive

● You received more money for a Special Diet
Allowance than you or a family member were
allowed to receive
$150.00
Sep 2017●
You received more.

What to do? They tried to do this before and I thought this worker was better.

What to do?

There was a course where I did my exam 3 weeks ago and the final mark is still not out. I did my exam though even3 weeks ago and it was my first exam. All other exams that were later I got the final mark back but not this mark.

I thought May 4 was the final day to submit and I usually notice marks come back the same day.

What do you think would happen?

Does anyone know what is happening with the final marks?

It’s been 3 weeks since the exam and we have not received it, we just received the participation marks on brightspace.

Does anyone know why it may be taking so long and when they expect to release the final marks?

How was it?

Also it is weird they posted it on student center at 10 pm cause isn’t the register not working that time, so how would they approve.

Just goes to show marks can come back on student centre anytime.
