I just launched my first WordPress plugin on PeerPush and somehow it made it to #3 in today’s ranking 😄

LingoSlug Lite is a lightweight plugin for multilingual URL slugs and redirects.

I built it because after 15+ years working with WordPress, one annoying little “stone in the shoe” was always multilingual URLs. A lot of multilingual plugins are full ecosystems, while sometimes you only want clean localized URLs like:

/en/contact/
/de/kontakt/

without adding a huge translation suite.

So this plugin focuses specifically on:

per-language slugs
localized URLs
redirects based on active locale
lightweight setup

After years of working with multilingual websites, one thing that kept bothering me was localized URL slugs. A lot of multilingual plugins are huge ecosystems with features I didn’t necessarily need, and changing translated URLs cleanly can get surprisingly expensive.

So I built a lightweight plugin for it:

LingoSlug Lite

It doesn’t translate content itself. The idea is simply to let you create localized slugs/URLs for different languages and help search engines better recognize the language-localized pages.

The free version currently supports two languages. I’m also working on a Pro version with more SEO-related features and unlimited languages.

Since this is my first public plugin release, I’d genuinely appreciate feedback, bug reports, or ideas from people who work with multilingual WordPress sites.
