Bank of Hope Background Check / Exam

Hello, I have an interview with Bank of Hope next Tuesday. I’m not too worried about the interview itself, but I heard there may be an accounting-related test afterward. If anyone here has gone through the process before, could you share what kind of questions I should expect or what topics I should prepare for?

I also heard there is an essay question section, and I’m not really sure how to prepare for that either. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

In addition, could you let me know what onboarding documents are usually required? Would documents like my school diploma and passport be enough, or are there other documents I should prepare in advance?

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to apply for the New Jersey CPA, and I’m trying to figure out which of my economics courses will count toward the “business credits” requirement.

I graduated from Rutgers (School of Arts and Sciences, Economics major — NOT Rutgers Business School).

Here are the courses I’ve taken:

  • Intro to Microeconomics
  • Intro to Macroeconomics
  • Intermediate Micro Analysis
  • Intermediate Macro Analysis
  • Statistics I
  • Econometrics
  • International Economics
  • American Economic History
  • Financial Economics
  • Environmental Economics

I understand that NJ requires business credits from an accredited business school (AACSB/ACBSP), but I’ve also heard some econ/stat courses may still count as “business-related.”

Has anyone gone through NJ CPA evaluation with similar ECON courses?
Which ones were accepted as business credits, if any?

Thanks in advance!
