Body Dysmorphia

Y’all, body dysmorphia is for real…

I’m down to 310 from a starting weight of 365. I bought new shorts about 2 months ago, in a 28W - they are getting too big. I still feel the same, though.

So…today I went to a big box store and decided to just buy the largest women’s short size they had - my old shorts are okay with a belt, so I didn’t plan to actually wear these 24W shorts, but I was going to use them as goal shorts to judge my progress and as soon as they start to fit my plan was to buy more and go with them.

So…I took them home and decided to see how close I was. Y’all. Y’ALL. THEY FIT.

I mean, they are a little more snug than I like to wear my clothing, but I was able to button/zip them, and sit down without blowing out the seat. Heck, the pockets don’t even gap.

And here I am feeling like I look the same and trying to figure out how the heck I stuffed my 30W butt into a 24W.

So…NSV for me, but also…I’d really like to know when I start seeing myself differently. To be fair, though, I’m not really sure I saw myself as accurately when I was 365, so…maybe the answer is never.

How long did it take those of you that have lost weight to get past the dysmorphia?
