[WTS] Fujifilm X-M5 Camera + Fujinon 27mm Lens

Fujifilm X-M5 Camera + Fujinon 27mm Lens + 256GB SD Card + Strap.

Selling my Fujifilm X-M5, purchased just one month ago and still in excellent condition.

I’m only selling it because something unexpected came up in my life and I need to redirect the money elsewhere. Otherwise, I would definitely be keeping it.

Very lightly used and well looked after. Ideal if you want an almost-new X-M5 without paying full retail price.

5000 AED for the entire setup. I havent even registered the capture one subscription that comes with the camera.

Location: Dubai JVT Area.

Selling My Newly Bought Fujifilm X-M5 to Go Back to iPhone 16 pro + mood

I will never call myself a photographer. I enjoy the process of taking photos: composing the image, finding the right subject, and just capturing the moment.

When I got my iPhone 16 Pro, one of the first apps I got after lots of research was mood. I always disliked the way modern smartphone photos looked, and that’s the reason I held onto my iPhone 11 Pro for as long as I did.

This year, with enough disposable income and wanting to try out “a better setup,” I bought the X-M5 + 27mm Fuji lens. Let me start by saying, every photo this camera takes is gorgeous. But I hate the entire shooting experience as a person who just shoots photos for fun.

Having the camera on me all the time is cumbersome. I have to either wear it on a strap or carry it in a bag, and I don’t always carry a bag. The photo-taking process is a lot more involved. Auto is great, but you need to learn to dial in the shutter speed and aperture at least before you start taking amazing photos. It’s much easier on a phone to switch between focal lengths, especially wide and ultrawide, than to walk with your legs to get the perfect shot.

All I’m trying to say is that dedicated camera photography is a lot more involved than snapping photos with your phone.

Honestly, as someone who just enjoys capturing the moment and rarely edits his photos, mood remains the number one and best photo taking experience I have ever had on any phone.

KUDOS to Alex for such an amazing app. KUDOS to the community here for the amazing filters you keep posting.

Bumble rant. Feel free to skip

A little context before today’s rant, I’m a 32M. I have a stable job I enjoy, I own the apartment I live in, and I own a car.

I put off dating for the past six years because my last relationship ended after my ex gave me an ultimatum, get married immediately or break up. At the time, I wasn’t financially ready to start a family, so we broke up.

I downloaded Bumble 12 days ago. So far, I’ve had 14 matches, and eight women have either messaged me first or replied to my response to their opening move.

My first experience was with a lovely woman my age. We talked on the app for five days about our interests, upbringing, and hobbies. Around day three, I suggested moving to Insta or whatsapp, or simply scheduling a date. She said she needed more time to get to know me, so I didn’t push.

On the fifth day, I told her there wasn’t much more we could learn about each other through texting and that we would eventually need to meet in person to see whether we actually liked each other. She got defensive, said I wasn’t giving her the time she needed, and unmatched me. Sorry, random lady.

Then there were two women who had “set up their accounts while visiting the city” but actually lived somewhere else. Both said they would love to move here and build a life here. Honestly, I’m not interested in long distance dating or helping someone relocate. I don’t even know how I would help with that.

Then there were another two women who had “accidentally” set their ages four/three years older than they actually were and apparently didn’t know how to change them. I’m sorry, but a four year mistake sounds like a red flag. I can understand being off by one year because your finger slipped or you entered the wrong date. Four years feels like a deliberate choice.

Then came the final one. The one that broke me and made me delete the app on the spot. I matched with a lovely woman who shared most of my interests. We worked in similar fields, competed in similar sporting events, and were having a genuinely great conversation. I suggested moving to insta, and she agreed. I messaged her there, and two days passed without a reply. I stupidly messaged her again on Bumble to ask what happened.

She told me: “I saw on your Instagram highlights that you took a connecting flight, and I just don’t see myself with a man who would book me a connecting flight to save money.” The connecting flight she was talking about was from where I live to Japan through Singapore. My friends and I deliberately chose that route because we wanted a 12-hour layover at Singapore's airport to explore it and experience everything there.

That was it for me.

I’m sorry, but Bumble just isn’t for me. If you’ve had a good experience there, thank God. If you’re having a bad experience and still choose to stay, good luck.

Me? I’m out.
