[Discussion] Advice for beta reading/editing finished short (5-7k word) horror stories
Hey everyone,
First time on here (and to be honest I’m not super sure if I’m even posting in the right subreddit).
I write short horror stories (more dread, otherworldly, liminal, slightly lovecraftian, rather than just gore, guts, and gratuitous torture porn), and over the years I’ve accumulated a decent amount of stories.
I’ve been told that I should try and get some of them published but I honestly have no idea if they’re even any good, or how to format and edit them.
Does anyone on here have any advice on how I can get a second pair of eyes for my work and/or someone who’d be willing to help with editing.
I sadly have pretty much no budget, seeing as everything’s still very much a passion project, and while I do want to try and find someone willing to give me advice and an opinion, I also don’t wanna offend anyone by being broke as all hell.
Even a couple words of advice would be greatly appreciated
