be smart - don’t just stop
I (30f) stopped taking Lexapro about a month ago. Cold turkey. I was on 20MG for 5 years straight, no disruptions. I was really good with it. But this year something changed and I wanted to have more feelings. To be less numb, to actually cry. So I stopped taking it cold turkey. The brain zaps were hell and I made the decision to go back. Started up on 10 mg last week again and ended up hospitalized Tuesday for panic attacks and suicidal thoughts.
Now I’m in worse shape than I was before I started Lexapro. Needless to say- I’m no longer on Lexapro. Switched over to Zoloft with Hydroxyzine to help.
be smart, don’t be dumb. if you want to stop taking Lexapro, ween yourself off under your doctors watch.
