Suggest thrillers

I am currently reading "As good as dead" by Holly Jackson. have already read the previous 2 in the series. So I want suggestions on what to read next. I was thinking on "The housemaid is watching" by Freida McFadden, since I have already read the previous two in the series as well, but I read a few reviews on reddit saying it is a drag, and honestly, imo, the first book(the housemaid) is a good read but the 2nd book is not as engaging.

Can anyone suggest some thriller or murder mystery books that are gripping, and essentially, "un-put-downable"?

Scenario:

You see someone everyday or maybe very frequently. Probably in your class, at work or at the gym. You have never talked to them. You don't even smile when you see them. Heck you don't even know their name. But you see them everyday. And make eye contacts. Like it happens. Multiple times.

Gradually, you start noticing the small things about them. When they come in, when they leave, who they greet when they enter, in a way that makes you feel you are a part of their life. Like a side character. Slowly, you start thing about them outside. Like, even when you are not seeing them, you think about them. Your mind subconsciously wanders to the question, "What must he/she be doing right now?". When you are having a cup of tea, your heart stops to think, "If he/she was here, it would be better".

You start imagining yourself doing things with them, like studying or working together, eating lunch together, or just sitting by the beach, your eyes into theirs, and then both of you start leaning in........

And snap, the daydream breaks, when you realize you cannot muster the courage to go upto them and say 'hi'. Silently, you wish, that they would come up to you, and break the ice. But that happens only in fiction. This is reality. Here, you keep going, they keep going. Eye contacts keep happening like before and life goes on. You think of them sometimes. Maybe they do too. But life goes on, with both of you in it, watching each other from your own bubbles of life.

Is it relatable for anyone?

If it is, please share your stories if you can. Would love to hear🫶🏼
