Sleep training help
Currently in the thick of it with our four month olds sleep. We have false starts until about 10pm/11pm with 45min to 1hr wake ups from bedtime (usually somewhere between 6.30-7.30ish), then will usually do a 3hr stretch followed by 1-3 hour wakings after that until 6-7am. He is bounced to sleep in our arms after which we try and transfer him into the bassinet. Will breastfeed to sleep if it’s not going well/taking a long time or it’s one of the overnight wakings because baby is back to sleep in under 10mins this way. Have had zero luck with settling to sleep in the cot when putting him down awake and he doesn’t take a dummy. I could cry with the amount of times I’ve heard “have you tried putting him down drowsy, but awake?”
Has anyone tried structured sleep training like Ferber? How did it go? How did you approach it? How did you know when your baby was “ready”?
