2 Week Itinerary Help!

*Help me plan the last leg of my Georgia trip — active family with 5 year old, renting a car**

Hey everyone! I'm heading to Georgia (the country!) and would love some advice from people who've been.

Here's my setup:

- Travelling with my nanny and my 5 year old son

- We're super active and outdoorsy — not a "sit by the pool" type of trip

- Renting a car (heads up — it's a Prius, is that going to be a problem on any of the roads?)

- We want to kayak if possible, horse riding would be amazing especially for my son.

- Last night of the trip we're staying near the airport

**My itinerary so far:**

- Nights 1–3: Tbilisi (arriving late after a long flight so keeping it chill to start)

- Nights 4–7: Kazbegi / Stepantsminda (4 nights — done, booked, super excited)

**The question:** Where should we spend our remaining 4 nights?

I've been looking at the Kutaisi area — Martvili Canyon and Okatse Canyon look incredible and I'd love to do both. But I'm also wondering if there's somewhere better suited for an active family that I'm missing. We don't want to be moving around every single night because of our 5 year old, so ideally one base for the 4 nights. Would also love to see that ancient city carved into the rocks.

A few specific things I'd love advice on:

  1. Is a Prius going to struggle on any roads we should know about? Particularly around Kazbegi or heading west?

  2. Best place to actually kayak with a young child in Georgia?

  3. Horse riding recommendations — somewhere good for a 5 year old?

  4. Is Kutaisi the right base or is there somewhere else we should consider?

Any tips massively appreciated — Georgia looks absolutely incredible and I want to make the most of it! 🇬🇪
