Public and private transport in Georgia

Hello, I will be visiting Georgia this summer in August, and I'm wondering how taxi and public transport as tram and metro work there .

Is there is an app which is better to use ? Can I pay by card inside ?

Shoul I carry cash with me for a tip?

I don't know if the question was already answered.

In advance many thanks for your answers.

From a french guy, that's looking forward to see your country .

Getting harassed in tbilisi sea

These guys go around the tbilisi sea clicking videos of girls changing.

Be careful while changing. Make sure to look around and check if these guys are there before changing!

Background:
30th june around 6pm to 8pm. My friends are international students. My friends were at the sea changing, these guys went chasing around them and bothering them and clicking videos of them changing from far. When confronted and said they will involve police, they said they deleted the videos, and when asked to show the phone they threw the phone in the sea.

After some time my friends went to catch a bus, these guys followed them, and spit infront of them, threatening them.

Ps: these post is just to make people aware of these dangerous guys, so that you can be more careful and safe 🙏🏻

Question: Are there any changing rooms available near tbilisi sea?

Visiting Georgia

Between August and September me and my partner are going to spend 2 weeks in Georgia. We will likely rent a car in Tbilisi and would love to both connect with the local culture and spend time in nature. We are both climbers and enjoy hiking and camping.
Do you have any suggestions for us? We love going out the beaten track, we would really enjoy tips about places that are not too mainstream, and that can show us what Georgia is really like.
Can you help us? ♥️

Best scenery in autumn

My girlfriend and I will be living in Old Town Tblisi sometime around Oct 20-Nov 20. We have some time to explore and need some expert opinion!

We were originally very excited about Svantei because we saw pictures of the green foliage, but that is during summer, and we saw that everything is brown during the months we will be there

Questions:

  1. Is svaneti in fact more brown during October - November? Is it worth going to or is there another place your recommend for autumn time in particular?

  2. What’s the best and most scenic place to go to during autumn? I heard Racha is the best?

  3. How do you recommend getting there from Tblisi? If we wanted to drive ourselves, is it difficult?

How is life in Sakartvelo?

Hi everyone, Because of my work I get to know people from all over the world (I work in manufacturing & export), so naturally I made friends from Africa, Europe, the US, to the dangerous countries in the Middle East such as Syria and Iraq One of the countries that I couldn’t do business in, so naturally I couldn’t make friends and discover the culture from there (and I’m really curious about) is Georgia. You can’t discover the culture by simply visiting as a tourist because you are mostly seeing the touristic part. I am really curious. I did a small research but still I don’t really trust the internet because it’s mostly not true + it shows what the publishing side wants you to believe, not the truth. I will keep it short. How’s the food? What does your main meal look like and what are the funny facts or stereotypes about Georgia?

1-Do u fear Russian invasion or no? (I feel like Georgia is not that political a country compared to the others. They have their own problems internally but it’s rare to hear that they are bad with another country. Plus they are a major investment hub it’s kinda like the UAE of the Caucasus. They may pick a side but that’s it.)

2- Most importantly, how do your people view dogs? I know that you have a lot of strays, but for example some countries have a huge number of stray dogs. Mostly people don’t want them in their home they love them, feed them and take care of them but it ends there.

3- If anyone from the subreddit has had the chance to travel a lot, which country has the most similar food to yours?

4- How does the average family life look? What is the thing that your people hate a lot? And is there anything that pisses you off about foreigners? For example, one of my Turkish friends told me that they get really pissed off when someone pictures them as Arabs (in movies tv shows etc etc)

5- And lastly, if you could choose, would you leave your country and live in another place or no? And why?
