Travelling to Mestia and Tetnuldi for ski season
Hello my friend and I are planning a skiing trip to Georgia in jan/feb 2027. We are wondering avout a few things.
We have decided that Mestia is the best option for us that want dome touring and freeriding and we want to ski Hatsvali, Tetnuldi as well as maybe tour Ushguli. We gound that there are 4x4 taxis that operate these parts from Mestia and that you can share rides to make them cheaper. Just wondering if they fit all ski gear and are they easy to find/get space for 2 people, do they leave often?
We also think the best option for flights is Tbilisi but whats the best/convinient/fastest way to get to Mestia same day as flight lands? Is it train to Zugdidi and then marshrutka or direct bus or the unreliable flight? Can you get back to Tbilisi easy for the flight home?
