Progress in writing five months apart
Hello all, I am not sure if this is the right thread. I used to post on the Sakartvelo thread but I noticed that is more for political discussions.
I am a British person learning Georgian. I have always been interested in non Indo-european languages but I also really love Georgia so, I get a lot out of learning the language. I focus a lot on grammar because it interests me. However, I make many mistakes and I am still at a point where I don't know many words.
I have attached writings which are five months apart. I am happy with my progress and I will definitely be continuing. I feel so excited as a young adult to have so much time to learn new things.
Have a good day everyone and please ask any questions,
Gigi

How can we break the "Tourism & Logistics" trap? How could Georgia realistically fund domestic industrialization?
I have a question.
Much of Georgia's national industrial sector is lying dormant.
The economy is built on tourism, international logistics, and the Communications and technology industry.
To build a self-sufficient economy that will not shut down during crises like Covid or ripples in the globalized economy, we must nationalize resources and industrialize within Georgia.
This will create jobs to stabilize nominal gdp, opportunities for export, and just enhance the economy in every way.
However, upon further reflection I hit a roadblock. How must we nationalize resources if we do not have the fiscal autonomy to do so in the first place.
Factories need to be built for jobs to exist.
Resource extraction sites need to be built to get them on export.
Facilities need to be built in order to become energy-independent.
In order to do all these things we need money.
If we ask the IMF or World Bank, it comes at a price. You have to not only return that loan money but later be dependent on international institutions - not very independent.
Then we see political actors rely on local oligarchs and businessmen to invest, but that is an even worse route that leads to the exploitation of resources and workers, corruption, and overall less income to the national economy.
What must one do?
Has been there anything done in the past where a political leader took an alternative route and became successful?
Would you move to the Anglosphere?
Which of these countries would you move to most if you had the chance as a Georgian and which you wouldn't and why?
What if Ilia Chavchavadze never existed?
Serious question: If he didn't exist, how would Georgian history have unfolded differently?
Language:
Is there a chance the Georgian language might've died out or become a marginal language only spoken by villagers? Would the Georgian population have successfully been Russified?
Statehood:
without Ilia's nationalistic journalism, what are the chances a Georgian SSR would've existed after the bolsheviks took over the Russian empire?
Tergdaleulebi:
Without Ilia, you still have Akaki Tsereteli, Vazha Pshavela, Dimitri Kipiani, and others. Would their contributions have been enough to ensure that Georgian culture survives Russification?
Just some interesting historical questions to think about...

Is the toad from Batumi to Akhaltsikhe safe?
My family and I are visiting Georgia in September and are thinking of renting a car. We’re planning on driving from Batumi to Tbilisi, stopping at Akhaltsikhe and Gori for overnight stays. I’ve seen/heard that the road from Batumi to Akhaltsikhe is unpaved and/or dangerous, but it looks like they’ve started paving most of it recently.
Is it a safe road to drive on in September? Also, what kind of vehicle should we rent?
Reccomendations on things to see along the way welcome as well!
