From my journey in the Lesser Caucasus

I traveled from Gomis Mta to Abastumani, over the mountains and woods. These are some of my photos from the journey. Lovely nature, and lovely people! Every time I have asked in mountain villages to buy bread, they refuse payment, and instead let me go with both bread AND mountain cheese! Cheers Sakartvelo.

Now I will go further east. Looking forward to it.

Anyone in or near Akhaltsikhe willing to sell me a bike?

Yo

I'm traveling Georgia and recently hiked from Gomis Mta across Akhalsheni and then Persati, and now I am soon to be in Akhaltsikhe. I was thinking that getting a bike to continue east is the right move, and wondered if anyone here is willing to sell me one, or can point me in the right direction?

Only requirement is that it has a cargo rack at the back - needed for camping equipment. Otherwise I'm not looking for anything expensive or high end. Just a bike that will ride fine on roads, and off-road if need be.

Would help a lot, thank you!

How to Georgians find guest houses?

Hello folks,

I've been traveling and hiking in Georgia and recently living like a hobo, simply sleeping in the woods and mountains.

A few times while being frustrated at trying to find hostels/rooms with Google, I've asked random people where to find a room, and then I've either been offered to stay with them, or they've asked someone for me (funnily then running after me yelling "English!" (my second name now), and one time I was told I can sleep in a public building).

So I wonder, is this how a native Georgian would go about finding lodging while traveling randomly? Or is there a better way?

Basically I've realized that booking sites and such, don't tell the whole story.

Thank you! :)

Militado ML1868 - Beginning to trust this watch

I also love the compass attachment in the third image. Great for getting a general sense of direction in familiar terrain.
