6w2d scan with Gestational Sac but unconfirmed Yolk Sac (fuzzy shadow). Is there still hope?

Hi everyone,

My wife (41) and I are in agonizing limbo after our scan today and could really use some honest feedback, similar stories, or insight into our ultrasound image.

Our Context:

  • This is our 8th IVF round overall. We yielded 3 euploid (PGT-A normal) embryos.
  • Our first 2 euploid transfers failed to implant entirely.
  • Before this 3rd transfer, we did a massive protocol shift: fixed a hydrosalpinx, treated her endometriosis, and moved forward with a True Natural FET using our final embryo (a Day 6 euploid).
  • For the first time ever, we cleared implantation!

Our Beta/HCG History:

  • 9dp5dt (Day 11 baseline): 1,186
  • 11dp5dt (48 hours later): ~2,000
  • 5w3d: 7,513

Her progesterone dosage was ramped up between weeks 5 & 6 Despite this maximum rev-up, her progesterone levels have stalled and remained flat at 81. Our doctor is a bit concerned—he wants her progesterone above 100, and feels 81 is too low despite the maxed-out support.

Ultrasound History:

  • First Scan (5w2d): Gestational sac measured 8mm. Completely empty, no yolk sac seen yet.
  • Second Scan (Today, 6w2d based on measurement, 6w3d calendar math): Gestational sac has grown on track to 15.3mm
  • However, the yolk sac is still not clearly defined.

The doctor was very cautious and honestly sounded a bit pessimistic. He noted it is not completely blank inside, but shows a slightly fuzzy inside which he called borderline. It seemed like he's not yet convinced it's going to progress.

Our Questions:

  1. At a 15.3mm sac size, how probable is it for the yolk sac to clearly show up over the next few days? Have any of you had a "blurry shadow" turn into a viable embryo a week later? if it was a blighted ovum would it be completely blank?
  2. Has anyone had success with a progesterone level stalling in the 80s despite being on maximum supplementary doses? Did your clinic demand it be over 100?

We are staying strictly on our medication protocol, but our hearts are completely guarded. Thank you so much for reading.

NRI considering property investment in Bangalore - Is it worth it?

Hey everyone,

I’m originally from Bangalore but have been in Singapore for 15 years. My wife isn't Indian and we don't plan to settle back, but I’m looking to take advantage of the strong SGD (~75 INR) to pick up a property back home in my name.

My parents are already in North Bangalore, so I’m sticking strictly to that area since I know it well and see the growth. I'm looking at a top-tier builder I actually trust (have friends who work there), so I’m not overly worried about the typical "getting duped" or remote management headaches.

My options

  1. 3BHK Off-plan: Favorable payment plans allow for better deployment of capital and potential to easier flip to end-users at handover (2030/31)
  2. Gated Plot: Requires a larger down payment and is a slower, long-term play for pure land appreciation.
  3. The Alternative: Is the RE headache even worth it over just sticking to Indian Mutual Funds?

Anyone share experiences with buying RE as an NRI? I’ve heard plenty of horror stories—projects delays, crazy tenants, transfer fees eating profits, and repatriation nightmares—but I’m looking to hear about some positive experiences too.

Has anyone successfully sold a property in Bangalore for a decent profit and comfortably repatriated the money lately? For a 5-10 year horizon, would you bet on the leverage of a 3BHK or the scarcity of a plot?
