So i bought a tremolo pedal for about $20, it is an independent builder so the pedal has no schematics online or anything.

When i tried it with all knobs at noon i noticed the volume was very boosted by the circuit, to make it nominal it has to be almost all the way down. I started experimenting and it is actually a quite nice clean boost, the only problem is that i can't control the gain stage of the pedal since it only has 1 volume knob so i have to either always run it before any OD/Dist. Or keep the volume really low which makes the effect not as aggressive as I'd like. I was wondering if it is possible to add another gain pot or something like that and just bridge it to the current pcb to make a sort of tremolo/overdrive pedal.
