So I just got back from a birding trip in which I was shooting down into brush, under heavy canopy, or in otherwise low light environments. LR Denoise tends to make subjects look rubbery or animated so I've been playing around with Dxo PureRaw and I'm generally pleased. About a third of my images, however, are coming out almost looking like they were under a microscope. Feathers way too defined and unnatural looking, for example. I've had some success softening them back in LR by manually lowering sharpness/texture, but I'm wondering if there is a setting in Dxo that may help? Given I only have a few days of trial I'm hoping someone here may have some ideas!

Added a couple shots as examples. The Mourning Warbler was shot about 20 minutes before sunset, shooting down into a thicket with an R7 + 200-800, iso was 12,800, f/8. 1/320. I feel it looks pretty good, possibly a -bit- overprocessed but good. Then there's the Canada Warbler. Shot under a pretty dense canopy but a bit backlit. Same set up, iso 6400, f/8, 1/400.
