Order Handling Fees after increasing prices
Fortinet has started charging an order handling fee (FTN-OHF1) on hardware orders. Some of you know this, some don’t. Either way, I encourage all resellers to push back loudly on this one. They already charge more for hardware than VMs. That’s obvious and reasonable. They have already increased prices across the board both by increasing retail prices as well as decreasing certain discounts. Adding an order handling fee is total bs and, if we don’t push back, will become normal and other vendors will start doing it as well. Small resellers are the only ones this hurts right now. Larger resellers probably don’t have to pay it. And the reps offering to give a $200 discount are missing the point that we have to keep this type of thing from becoming the norm.
