1984 we VW kelmark GT

hey guys, i’m not a huge car guy but i really wanna get into a project car. i recently found a kelmark GT on sale for $6000 CAD(4.3k USD) with 100,000km (62k miles) on it . Is it worth the price? Not a huge fan of that interior dash and if i could change it id like it more but exterior looks great. Needs work but i dont mind a long term project. Can i get some advice on if i should get this?

originally i was looking at old challengers, thunderbirds or camaros for way less but this unique design really has me obsessed rn

My best friend just graduated from her masters and her dream is to move to NYC in maybe a year from now. she loves everything about the city from the culture to the fashion. Loves breakfast at tiffany’s because of the city. basically just anything to do with the city’s a dream. I want to get a gift that isn’t just basic nyc merch, but something thats creative and makes her excited to go or even just something inexpensive and thoughtful. Only problem is i’ve never visited the city myself. I know people can pay for time square shout outs and that would be cool but she’s not there right now so i’m not sure if that would just be a waste. Anyone from the city have any ideas?
My other option is just jewelry but i thought this would be more special and push her to pursue her dreams.

I had lessons booked for the first week of September and surgery May 14th. but i got mild pneumonia and it may get pushed back, not sure to when tho. How long after surgery could i get on a bike?
I tried asking my doctor but he just said 6-8 weeks til i feel i can walk normally but isnt sure about motorcycles
