Best Practice on Google Ads Account Migration?
Hey guys, my company is shutting down operations due to AI impact. I was managing a lead-gen account for our partners that brings in stable commission, and boss said I can take over and run it personally as a side hustle. But I am a bit torn on what to do about the old account.
Option 1: Stick to the old account and update billing
Change the billing profile from Business to my Personal credit card. But I heard that changing the billing entity might trigger a "Suspicious Payment" ban. The account has years of data but also past suspension flags, not sure if it can survive a manual review.
Option 2: Start fresh + MCC Pixel sharing.
Create a new personal MCC, link the old account, and share the conversion pixel to a brand NEW child account (funded by my personal card).
Fear: Does sharing a pixel from a slightly "grey" old account put my brand new account at risk of suspension by association?
Option 3: Total Isolation (Start from scratch).
Create a completely new account, zero connection to the old one, and re-train the algorithm from scratch starting with Manual CPC.
My thought: Since the old account is still alive, I could keep it running as a fallback in case the new one doesn't work out. But is it worth losing years of data just for safety?
What is the safest path forward here? Any advice will be appreciated.
