Found a job, but still struggling
Hey everybody, I’m faced with a bit of a struggle and I wanted to hear your thoughts. I’m on jobseeker and rent assistance with very little in savings due to financial hardship. I was lucky enough to land a job that pays OK, but is over an hour from where I live .
Admittedly I accepted the job as I felt that I would be able to deal with the travel, but i fear that the distance is going to become exhausting very quickly when combined with a 40 hour work week. My only alternative is to drive the same distance, but given my circumstances it is difficult to afford fuel and tolls and it’s becoming really stressful!!
Would it be worth it to explain to centerlink that I feel that it is unfeasable to travel this far in favour of finding another job? I’m afraid of losing my payment and becoming dependent on this exhausting endeavour. Please give me some advice on what to do
