How to get to one of the best views for fireworks 10 min before showtime with new crowd control
Disney seems to have implemented new crowd control/flow in the last few weeks, which probably made navigating parade/fireworks crowds near impossible. Here’s a hack I just discovered today during July 4th fireworks.
Crowd control moves people in a counterclockwise direction so around 9:00pm, you’ll want to start walking into Disneyland, and you’ll end up in Tomorrowland. Ride Astro orbiters (despite the crowds there’s no line as everyone is trying to fight their way to see the parade or get a spot for fireworks). You’ll get a crazy view of the parade, which starts at 8:45 but really starts at 8:50.
Depending on when you get in line, you’ll finish around 9:15. The exit gate of Astro Orbiters exits toward Central Plaza. The crowd is held there as the last float in the parade is just getting through the circle. You get to skip the entire crowd waiting to cross since the exit of the ride basically exits where cast members are holding everyone.
When the last float passes, they release the crowd and let everyone stand in the street where the float was just driving. This is close to the best view you can get for fireworks since it’s near the front of Central Plaza. The area will fill in fast, but if you time everything correctly, your wait time will be less than 5 minutes for fireworks to start.
I expect a huge line on Astro Orbiters by tomorrow at 9pm. 😂
