Does the Kylaq 1.0 TSI MT feel more alive at higher odometer readings?

So I'm at ~3,500 km on my Kylaq MT (March 2026) and I've been comparing mental notes with a friend's unit (Early 2025) at 15k km. The difference in 2nd gear pull especially is quite noticeable - same RPM range, his car just pulls harder and longer before you feel it running out of steam. 3rd gear is similar story.

Mine doesn't feel slow exactly, but there's a certain... eagerness missing that I felt on his car. Like the engine is still a bit reluctant to rev freely.

I've done some decent mileage already - highway runs, some ghat sections - so it's not like it's been babied. Just wondering if anyone who's crossed 8-10k km on their Kylaq MT actually felt a tangible difference in how the car pulls in the lower gears compared to early ownership?

Did the 2nd and 3rd gear pulls feel meaningfully stronger once the engine loosened up? Or is this just how the car is and I need to manage expectations?

Clarkson on Top Gear - "Look at the face. It’s got that signature Škoda 'I’m-sensible-but-I-might-bite-you' look. In this 'Deep Black Pearl' finish, it doesn't just sit in the landscape; it dominates it. It says, ‘Yes, I’m in a tea garden, but I’d much rather be chasing a GTI down a motorway.'
