Short and sweet for anyone questioning their solo rave adventure:

Background:

I missed out on 10 years in the scene because I wasn’t confident enough to go on my own. I felt like I need others to feel secure enough. When my rave fam dissolved I lost this community and now that I’m back, one of my goals was to rave solo.

The universe speaks:

While in line to get in I overheard a guy behind me saying it was his first time at the venue and he was unsure if he was in the right line (2 events happening in the space). My initial reaction was to mind my business and keep to myself, but then I was like “what if we did something else?”

I turned around to help him out, his friend joined him in line and ended up being a venue promoter off duty and they invited me to join their crew for the night. Once inside the promoter friend asked me if I’d ever been on stage with the dj. Long story short, my anxious solo rave beginning turned into a night of dancing on stage with the dj, surrounded by new friends and like-energy folks.

My line friends popped in from time to time to encourage and dance with me but I really learned how far I could go and how amazing a time I could have just by instigating a moment of kindness.

Much love y’all, GO DO IT SOLO!
