Advice for child stripping off clothes?
Hi. I'm looking for advice to help with my 6 year old and her refusing to get dressed and stripping off her clothes.
She is what I suppose we could call pre verbal, she has some sentences but doesn't talk much and can't converse back and forth, a lot of echolalia. She has had sensory issues with clothes for a long time but the last few days it has gotten out of control.
She is basically refusing to get dressed for school this past week. She missed her school tour to a farm that I think she would have loved too this week. Today her mother kind of made her put on the clothes and get in the bus for school but they messaged her mom and said that once they were near the school she started stripping off her clothes in the bus.
I am not sure if it is only sensory issues now with the clothes or if there is more to it and that there is something about school she is trying to avoid, her mom thinks it is only to do with the clothes.
Any advice from parents who have gone through this to keep her dressed and happy to wear her school clothes bar the usual generic stuff in Google?
