Join the Sons of the Phoenix!
Looking for a Space Marine 2 Chapter with actual progression and organization behind it, but without being told who you have to play with, what cosmetics you're allowed to equip, or having every rank exist just to look important?
Sons of the Phoenix is an 18+ Chill-Sim Chapter built around long-term progression, Companies, challenges, events, specialists, and competitive recognition. We've spent a lot of time building our own systems rather than copying the usual Chapter template.
Some of the bigger things that set us apart:
- A custom-built Chapter Servitor. Our bot was built in-house by Severax specifically for our Chapter and automates AAR scoring, progression, Promotion Trials, Challenges, rankings, member profiles, recognition, recordkeeping, and a large portion of our Discord administration. Members can check their own records at any time instead of relying on someone to manually count points or remember to update a spreadsheet.
- Play solo, with us, or with whoever you want. Solo play earns normal progression credit. You can also play with randoms, friends outside the Chapter, or members of other Chapters. Playing with another eligible Sons of the Phoenix member gives a Brotherhood Bonus, so playing together is encouraged without making it mandatory.
- Far more cosmetic freedom. We don't lock capes, tabards, Iron Halos, armor pieces, or other earned wargear behind artificial rank restrictions. Use the gear you've earned; just follow the Chapter's rank-appropriate paint scheme and heraldry.
- Progression that isn't just staff ranks. If you only want to play Space Marine 2 and build up your service record, that's completely valid. Our normal progression runs through Novitiate, Battle-Brother, Pyre-Brother, Veteran, Cinder Knight, and Phoenix Guard, with Challenges, Laurels, Studs, events, and other accomplishments alongside it.
- Specialist paths that actually do something. The Librarius handles lore, Challenges, accolades, Trials, and Chapter history. The Reclusiam handles mediation, standards, and uniform review. The Apothecarion works with recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and Gene-Seed activities. The Forge/Armoury focuses on builds, mechanics, bugs, meta knowledge, Armoury Data, custom Challenges, and Stratagems. They're working roles, not decorative titles.
- Leadership is expected to actually lead. Sergeants, Lieutenants, Ashen Lords, and Council positions all have defined responsibilities. Command ranks aren't intended to become permanent trophies occupied by someone nobody ever sees.
- Company Champions are genuinely competitive. Eligible members can earn the mysterious Flame Champion Laurel and compete for their Company's Champion title. The position can be challenged monthly, and a standing Champion may have to defend it in a 1v1 duel or another Company-established competition.
- Two Top 10 systems. We have a Lifetime Top 10 for the Chapter's highest overall AAR totals and a Quarterly Top 10 that resets every three months. That means someone joining much later still has a realistic chance to compete for a spot on the board.
- Prior service can actually count for something. Verified transfers from another established Chapter can receive transfer recognition rather than being forced through the entire beginner grind again. After completing our initial Trial, qualifying transfers can receive the progression necessary to enter as a Battle-Brother. If another Chapter specifically asks us not to grant transfer recognition to its members, we'll respect that.
- Regular members may dual-clan. You don't have to abandon another group or stop playing with your friends just because you join us.
Joining itself is simple: select Aspirant, complete one Operation at Minimal difficulty or higher with an NCO or Officer, and once the Trial is approved you enter the Chapter as a Novitiate and can begin building your own record.
Not sure whether you want to join yet? That's fine too. You can enter as a Cousin or Guest, play with us, and decide later.
We run Companies, progression, custom Challenges, rotating competitions and events, Specialist paths, Promotion Trials, historical recognition, Gene-Seed and Armoury Data tracking, and plenty more — but none of that requires you to turn the game into something you don't enjoy. If all you want to do is put on the colors, kill Tyranids, build your record, and hang out, there's a path for that too.
From the fires of war we rise!
