Fashion Cycles Throughout History Question

So I'm very curious, but I admittedly do have limited knowledge on this subject. I know fashion is very cyclical, and it seems like in modern times, styles from the 20th century are regularly make recurrences. For instance, Y2k is having a moment now, which had borrowed from 1970s styles prior, and so on.

My question is, was fashion as cyclical in earlier periods? Like did Regency fashion come back around during the late Victorian era? Or did each time period really just have its own unique fashion that wasn't repeating from earlier time periods? Why does historical fashion seem so much less cyclical than modern fashion?

Small bathroom help needed

I am absolutely vexed trying to figure out a design that elevates my small hallway bathroom. It's an interior room, so no natural light unfortunately, hence the faux plants. It's mainly used by my young daughter, so I was leaning more "neutral mermaid" (if that's even a thing lol) so it's fun for her while not being super childish and something she can age into.

The rest of the house has a coastal motif (light blues, white, natural wood). I went sage green for this room, I didn't want the house to be too blue. The floor tiles are way lighter beige than they look in this lighting.

Some ideas:

- white paneling on half the wall and wallpaper above

- wallpapering the whole thing

- different paint color ? Idk what though

- change some decor (to what, idk)

- crown molding will be put in eventually

I can't move anything around or change the fixtures since this was all recently put in. I just want to elevate it to make it look better than it does currently. I've stared at it for months and have yet to have inspiration strike, any input welcome!
