Before and after bathroom

About 6 months ago, I polled the Reddit community for feedback on my future downstairs bathroom. It’s been a lot of work, but it is roughly 95% completed. It still needs a dimmer, towels, artwork, and plants for the floating shelf.

I went with a blue/blue-gray stack non rectified tile with a custom marble niche. Moen brushed gold Voss accessories, a kohler poplin vanity and Taj Mahal quartzite shower step and counter top.

MCOL area.
Materials were 7k.
Labor was 5k.
I painted / sanded / mudded.

I’m anxious to ask for thoughts and feedback. The goal was a modern organic bathroom. I am happy with it but blown away by the amount of work it took.

Stark white walls, beige tile....staying for now.

A

This is a friends home who lives basic, VERY basic ! I know before too long I can convince him to let me paint w color.

In addition, I need to incorporate the seashell wreath into the design on the wall ? I would like a luxurious or coastal feel in the room. It's windowless and for my room. No major construction can be done. Please, any and all ideas greatly appreciated !

Before, during and after - can’t believe we’ve made it

Our FINALLY completed bathroom renovation. It nearly killed us, but we got there. This was a real labour of love. Bathroom fully designed by ourselves. Definitely not everyone’s cup of tea, but we love it 🥰

7 x 8 bathroom layout please help!!

2nd floor bathroom that will be used by 3 bedrooms. We are planning to change the door to open outwards to get some more clearance but can’t reasonably move any walls.

Goal: I would love to get the toilet out of the corner, and have a 2 sink vanity.

It just feels so cramped and I cannot figure out any good solution to it! The toilet is crammed into the far corner, directly in front of a tall window facing the street. I would prefer to keep a tub/shower combo but the only way I can get that to work is from a corner shower only unit.

Bathroom Remodel Help!

My mom is beginning to remodel her bathrooms, starting with the primary bathroom, and she’s asked me to help with the process. I’d love some outside opinions and ideas! She’s in her late 70s and we want to make the bathroom safe for her as she continues aging, so no tub.

She lives in the Pacific Northwest, and we’d really like the bathroom to feel like it belongs there, warm, natural, calming, and not overly trendy. The goal is to make the primary bathroom feel a little like a spa for her. I’m imagining some blend of mid-century modern, Japandi, and PNW style, with natural wood, earthy tones, interesting tile, fun textures and a little warmth.

We tend to prefer a more neutral, timeless base for the permanent finishes rather than committing to a lot of color in the tile or cabinetry. That way we can bring in color through things that are easy to change - towels, rugs, artwork, plants, decor, etc.

The first 2 photos are the current bathroom, and the last is an AI rendering I made to start visualizing some ideas. Nothing in the rendering is set in stone, it’s more of a jumping-off point.

This post became longer than I wanted. Id appreciate any opinions on tile choices, wood tones, vanity style, lighting, fixtures, and ways to make the room feel warmer and more elevated without becoming too busy. Also any recs on suppliers, vendors, or showrooms in the Seattle area.

Should I paint the whole bathroom pink? Or should I keep the trim and door white then the walls and ceiling pink?

Planning to paint my bathroom pink ignore all the samples on the wall I am going to use bridal pink by Benjamin Moore. Should I paint everything pink? Including the door and trim? Should I paint only the walls and ceiling pink then keep the door and trim white? Should I paint everything pink and keep only the trim white? Let me know your guys thoughts. The bathroom is very small.

My new bathroom complete for my girls

I told my girls I’d get them the best bathroom that I could afford,I built the stood work and niches, I did all electrics first and second fix, spot lights, LED for the niches and mirror, and extractor fan all on a 3 gang switch so you can choose what you want on, also installed a waterproof 24” tv and a 9” Bluetooth ceiling speaker, got contractor in for the tiling job which came out perfect so had to post here for you to appreciate the work. Niche tiles to match the bathroom suite which was the tilers great idea

bedrooms/bathrooms when they already have a standard mirror? 🤔

Seriously, I’ve noticed so many layouts where there is already a perfectly fine medium-sized vanity mirror or wall mirror, but people *still* go out of their way to squeeze in a giant, full-length, or floorleaning mirror right next to it.

Is it purely for "fit checks" and selfies, or is there a psychological/design reason behind it?

Help me reimagine rental bathroom

My husband and I rent a charming apartment, but the bathroom doesn’t really match the rest of the place. This is largely thanks to the ole landlord special where they painted the original woodwork white. We’re planning on paying someone to strip and restain the window, backside of the door (painted white inside, outside face is original - see last pic), and probably the built in mirror.

While we are renters, we’ve been here a long time and plan to stick around. So we’re looking to paint, change hardware, replace the cabinet above the toilet, add better lighting, and get some new art in. We want to honor the original woodwork and we’re inspired by the 60s/midcentury/danish looks.

The floor is a cute black and white tile, which we like, but it’s been making it hard to decide what colors we’d want on the wall.

Budget: under 2k (MCoL city)

Bathroom Reno (missing anything?)

Looking to see if I should add candle holders around the picture. Adjacent wall is completely blank but considering adding candle holders there too?

I low key hate my bathroom… but I’m at least going to paint it. What color would you do? I was thinking a warm white but I think I’m thinking too small. A moody teal? There’s a lot of little things I’d need to change. Would love opinions!!!

What color would you paint this bathroom?

Please be specific, looking at sherwin-Williams. I am suffering from decision fatigue! Photos with light and without on an overcast morning. Cabinets are hickory mushroom. Happy to answer specifics about materials. Fixtures will be matte black. TIA!!! See comments for cooler lighting.

What type of hooks are preferred for bath towels?

I desperately need to get more hooks in my bathroom. What type is generally preferred? I think I like the Amazon ones a little more, but is the Walmart style better, where the towel can go over instead of having to hang on the hook part? Just wondering if being hung on such a J-shaped hook will cause the fabric to stretch and shape oddly over 2-3 days.

Bathroom design-penny tile

I am renovating a small bathroom in a 1950s home. My plan is to use penny tile with charcoal grout on the floor. Would it look too busy to do a white subway around the tub with charcoal grout as well?

need advice on bath mat

sorry for the crazy angle but my bathroom is not very large. i just bought this Quiet Town shower curtain and i’m obsessed with it, but our current bath mats obviously do not match it. i am looking for advice on colors or brands of bath mat that would complement the curtain well. i want it to be a little more exciting than just a plain color- maybe a fun pattern with something to complement the brown/amber/yellow in the curtain. thank you!!

I could definitely use some direction...

We are planning a bathroom remodel. We want a shower, no tub, and a rectangle bench inside. I think we plan on tile, don't have a huge budget, and are looking for helpful ideas and suggestions. Can anyone help with some creative ideas? I'm at a complete loss. Thanks so much!
