Wet Basement Studsm

Tldr: how do we keep these bottom studs dry, it appears the dampness is coming from the ground?

This section of the basement was added on. The original basement, as you can see in one of the pictures, is rock wall. The exterior walls of the new basement are block with foam insulation and drywall (that needs to be repaired) but the wall along the old basement is studs, as shown here, and some sort of plywood and paneling. The bottom studs have been damp since we moved in; they never dry out completely although it gets better and worse. It seems the water must be coming up from the ground because nothing above it appears wet. How do we mitigate this? There's never actual puddled water, just the fact that the studs are always damp (and starting to rot). We've been running a dehumidifier but not sure where to start otherwise. Located in the upper peninsula of Michigan.

A Job Without Benefits??

My husband has an opportunity to take a new position paying $45k more than he currently makes. I'm a SAHM with one child and we hope to have more. The catch with the new job is that it does not offer benefits (it's a very small company). Is $45k more a year worth having to find our own health/vision/dental insurance? Located in Michigan, if that makes a difference.

Water in Basement

I'm going to give a long-winded explanation here, but basically I'm wondering if this home in the assisting piece could be causing water in the wall of the basement?

This is an old house with a rock wall basement in the upper peninsula of Michigan. The section to the right was an addition, with a block basement added underneath. The two basements were not combined and the wall of the new basement has studs and drywall alongside the old wall through the middle of the house. It's consistently been wet about two studs in from that corner. Could it be from the hole in that corner piece?

We're in Minneapolis area from out of town and having issues with 2014 Honda Odyssey (140k miles), potentially the alternator. It just happened Saturday night and we have to be driving out of town early Monday. Does anybody know of someone/somewhere that can do this repair on Sunday? Thanks!
