Hi all! I’m new to fixie bikes (rode them when I was young but then switched to gear road bikes) and want to get back into it by building one myself. It’ll be for fun jibbing, small commutes in NYC/casual group rides w friends and just good opportunity to know my way around a bike. I’m going to Japan right now, and was wondering what kinds of components are worth buying for my purpose.

I’ve seen a lot of glaze for the following stuff
- Sugino 75
- Nitto handlebars
- MKS pedals
- Hatta Swan headset
…

Some are p expensive but might be worth getting now since I’m from the US? What’s worth getting/not worth getting during my trip? Anything else I’m missing?
