Can anyone speak to their experiences and compare living in a private or shared studio/apartment off campus vs student accomodation (unilodge, scape, etc)?
Does any graduate student actually live in student accomodations??
Heard not so great things about Ipswich road, but this area closer to fairfield, is it generally safe for kids / going home from work at night?
Can anyone comment on the pros and cons of these suburbs for living as a student?
Personally, I want to prioritize easy commute to UQ and accesibility to parks and grocery stores. Ideally I wouldn't go over 500 per week for rent.
Also in terms of security and safety, is annerley actually that bad? Are there particular streets to avoid?
For PhD students, in your experience, how long did it take for your application to be assessed? I heard applying for a direct project scholarship is typically faster than UQGSS but my application's been sitting there for more than 3 months. Reached out to the graduate school many times. Always vague answer. For context, project scholarship, RQ3 intake.
