I want my mother to rehome her dog.

Years ago, my mom bought a puppy for the purpose of it being an emotional support animal for my brother with autism. I was young at the time so I obviously liked having a dog and found it special (although ive always been a cat person). My parents had it in training but gave up because of the prices, they were negligent ever since which has caused this animal to be too much for us.

A year and a half ago (roughly) my grandmother took the dog, no one minded and I for one loved it. Unfortunately my grandma passed last month and we have had to keep the dog since then. My mother believes this animal is traumatized due to the passing of my grandmother and she lets it do way too much ( ex. on occasion she takes it with her running errands, would let it SLEEP IN THE SAME BED AS HER which is disgusting imo, just lets it freely walk around the house instead of setting up gates ). I hate living with this animal, its unsanitary and a burden to have.

I want her to rehome it so so so much, it is not getting the full care it should be receiving and I cannot always be the one doing it as I live with my father every other week and have my own things to get done as well. Ive been bringing this up to her for years and I think she feels morally just for keeping it, thinking its "part of the family". I have no idea how to properly bring this up to her again and knowing her she most likely wont listen anyways. Ive lived with animals all of my life, when I first experienced how wonderful it is to live somewhere with no pet hair, dirt, food, and whatever else it changed my view on owning pets as a whole.

People changing once they find out you have ADHD

Anyone else noticed once they've mentioned taking medication or having ADHD that others have a change in mannerisms around them?

This isn't everyone, for me its a small amount of people that act differently but it makes me think they see me as inferior. Any time I am expressive I'll hear "have you taken your meds yet?" or if I am agreeable in the slightest "props to your docter" (uh wtf?) Besides the meds aspect, I swear people just mention my ADHD more. Like guys, come on. We are more than our disorder, we are human beings that still have thoughts, feelings, ambitions, hobbies, etc. I know not everyone doing this means it in a negative or hurtful way, but I thought it was common decency to not point out things like that!! Im incredibly thankful that I dont have many people around me that act this way, but I know thats not the same for everyone. Just wondering if anyone wants to share their experiences with people like this, have a great day :)
