I am the balancer responsible for Hanami's current state, and I'm looking for feedback.
I'm ItsAMatterOfTime, the balancer responsible for Hanami's current state.
I've been gathering feedback relating to their current state in multiple different locations, and I'd like to extend that to the Reddit. Below, I'd like to address some common complaints with Hanami.
keywords:
- R1 / R2 refer to the R variants of Root Swarm & Surging Thorns.
"Hanami is bad at zoning now!"
This is an intended change. As Tze stated in the supporter branches of The Z's, she is shifting from a zoner to a pure setplay dynamic.
"Hanami's special sucks!"
This is because I was concerned about a few issues, such as:
- R1 being inevitable damage with no drawback
- Skilled players being able to abuse R2 in m1 trading
- R2 causing things like Root Swarm to be guaranteed
"2 M1s feel way worse!"
While this may be the case, I feel it is the best for them to have it. Hanami is shifting out of a zoner playstyle, and with it, they need the slight help in M1 trading.
"Hanami can't combo extend!"
I'm not sure where this came from. All of Hanami's moves except for Bud Shot extend into uppercuts, which extend into other moves.
If you don't want Bud Shot to combo end, you can use R2 to ragdoll them and extend back into your uppercut.
"Bud Shot sucks right now!"
Yeah, we did that. I'm not lying, or trying to deny it.
I believe that clarity is incredibly important, and I feel it is fair to ask all sides for their feedback.
If you have questions, I may or may not answer them. I will be reading this post though, and I will take the feedback.
Please give me your ideas, thoughts, requests, or just discuss with others about this, so that I can gather a full concept of what to work on.
(note: its 4am at the time of creating this post, so apologies if I disappear.)
edit: upon waking up theres a lot of changes i didnt do so idk what the current hanami is but I didn't do them
