You can continue working on any model, seamlessly

As the token subsidy era comes to an expensive end, I started to worry about having all my projects tied to a single model that keeps getting more expensive. Or, finding out that I am stuck with one, while the others get more powerful. Different models are good at different things. but they don't communicate.

I basically wanted to be able to jump into any model at will without losing any work. But I didn't want to have all my information sitting in someone's cloud. So I built basically a "context os" that unifies your context/memory from various tools, updates as you work, and never leaves your control (or your side).

It's basically a bunch of plain text files with instructions for the LLM about how to use them. That's really it.

Free. No sign up. Private. Update itself. You own the files.

And it's free... and totally private.

Stop bot-sitting: A free, NO SIGN UP, cross-tool AI context memory, that updates itself

Context and AI memory stuff has become ubiquitous but I still have not seen anything else that lets you hold your data (exposes nothing), is model agnostic, updates itself AND is completely free.

readthemanifest.net

[note the copy/paste is low tech OPTION, not the core focus]

In my mind everyone needs a set up like this, so I also put a version of it in a public repo (the link is just an easy build through a GH app).

Check this out if you don't even want to click a link!

https://github.com/DMAX-Vibes/Context-OS

It’s public and MIT, so feel free to clone, fork, and grep, cringe, laugh...

For the wonky types, read the "How it Works" and see what you think.

Would love honest, well-meaning feedback.

Free, private, cross-tool "Context OS" layer that lives on your Git repo

or can be pure text.

[edit: link might help]

https://readthemanifest.net/

It's free, no sign-up, and fully private. Context lives as plain markdown in a GitHub repo you own. With a plain text layer of operating rules ("Context OS"). Nothing on my servers, nothing to log into. You can open it in any text editor and point any model at it — Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, whatever.

It's worked well for me; hoping it's useful to someone else too. Happy to answer anything, and genuinely open to feedback.

Recall Governor Sherrill

Our state has a serious problem, and our governor won't address it.

When ICE abuses were brought to light through recent protests, Governor Sherrill's response was... silent. Vague. While documented human rights violations—unlawful detentions, inhumane conditions, families being torn apart—were happening in our communities, we got no real leadership.

I started a petition calling on Governor Sherrill to either make a clear, public commitment to stopping these abuses or face a recall. Our diverse state deserves a governor who actually stands up against injustice, not one who looks the other way when it gets politically uncomfortable.

Has anyone else felt frustrated by the lack of real accountability from state leadership on this? What would you want your governor to do if this was your family being targeted? If this matters to you too, consider signing and sharing.
