Sudanese-Australian lawyer and human rights advocate Nyadol Nyuon has sparked debate after saying she has “no intention of assimilating” during an ABC National Forum discussion on migration and Australian identity.

Nyuon argued that assimilation is different from integration, saying immigrants can respect Australia, its laws and institutions without abandoning their own cultural identity. She also challenged the idea of a single “white culture,” noting that European cultures such as Italian, French and Greek are distinct from one another.

Her comments have reignited a broader debate in Australia over multiculturalism, belonging and what immigrants should be expected to adopt when becoming part of Australian society.

A distressing nighttime interdiction outside Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) highlights the aggressive deployment of plainclothes federal agents operating as a snatch squad in public transit hubs. A bystander, acting as an ad-hoc legal observer, recorded a tense scene in which four unidentified men surrounded a lone woman and effectively kidnapped her, forcing her into an unmarked transport vehicle.

The footage captures a chaotic abduction where the victim is visibly terrified, repeatedly asking for help and pleading for someone to call 911. She is physically corralled by four men wearing casual outerwear and backpacks, completely lacking any visible agency insignia or badges. When the citizen recording the encounter directly asks if the men are ICE, one of the agents confirms their affiliation. Pressed for their legal justification for the seizure, a masked agent briefly cites a vague "immigration violation".

Crucially, before the agents can close the van doors to finalize the kidnapping, the observer repeatedly asks the victim for her name to ensure she does not disappear into the detention system undocumented. Through the open door, she clearly shouts her name twice: Jing Zhao.

While the agents successfully executed the forced disappearance, the observer was able to capture vital accountability data. The camera operator attempts to identify the masked agent, who pulls his black face mask up further and states, "I don't have to identify myself to you". However, as the unmarked white Ford transit van pulls away, the observer tracks the vehicle's departure and documents U.S. Government Department of Homeland Security (DHS) license plates reading 381664

With increasing surveillance and evidence that police and the admin used prior nokings to identify and track activists, we recommend taking precautions.

As of October 3rd, just 2 weeks before the event gets started,

About 930 spots have been so far scheduled within congressional districts, for No King’s Early voting,

But, while that number certainly is nothing to scoff at, to really ensure the orange tyrant losses control of both chambers of congress(no matter how much gerrymandering and voter suppression the red hats engage in),

We need as many spots scheduled as possible for early voting, and because of that, I call to action, that if we live in a town or district that isn’t already hosting a no kings event,

Then we personally take initiative to host one ourselves,

For as the famous line goes “fine, I’ll do it myself.”,

So without any further a due, let’s get to it!

There is a lot of work to be done in the coming weeks to protect our democracy, but the strongest and final safeguard for these elections is our unwillingness as a country to accept stolen results. In the most dangerous scenarios, like Republicans refusing to seat Democratic winners in Congress, we need to be prepared for mass nonviolent noncooperation.
