Cybersecurity researchers have demonstrated that modern smart TVs actively record and store ambient room audio even when completely disconnected from the internet. In a recent investigation, hardware analysts proved that unplugging a television's network cable does not disable its internal microphone. Instead, the device simply archives the surveillance data locally.
The failure surface is the weaponization of internal storage. Because modern smart televisions are equipped with gigabytes of flash memory, they possess the capacity to covertly log weeks or months of compressed audio. Even if a consumer intentionally keeps the device offline to protect their privacy, the television functions as a dormant wiretap.
This creates a retroactive exfiltration vulnerability. The investigation proved that the moment a user reconnects the TV to Wi-Fi for an update or streaming service, the device immediately dumps its accumulated audio logs. Furthermore, researchers successfully exploited vulnerabilities to remotely exfiltrate this cached recording, proving that offline operation provides a false sense of security against persistent hardware.
This capability obliterates the concept of a "dumb TV." If a device logs room audio while disconnected and holds it hostage until a connection is restored, basic network isolation is no longer an effective privacy measure. Review the recent security analyses regarding offline audio caching, and physically sever or destroy the internal microphones in your smart appliances.

ARGUS-IS is DARPA’s Autonomous Real-Time Ground Ubiquitous Surveillance Imaging System, built by BAE Systems under an $18.5 million, 30-month contract awarded in 2007. Four telescopic lenses focus 368 five-megapixel cellphone sensors into a 1.8-gigapixel mosaic. From about 20,000 feet the array records a city-sized patch at 12 frames a second and feeds analysts dozens of independently steered windows.
A person on a public street cannot step off a sensor that covers tens of square kilometers. Lawrence Livermore’s Persistics software tags moving objects and builds location histories. The raw stream runs on the order of hundreds of gigabits a second; published estimates put uncompressed video near six petabytes a day. The U.S. Air Force fielded that architecture in Gorgon Stare Increment 2. Sierra Nevada Corporation said the pod reached initial operating capability in 2014 and expanded coverage to about 100 square kilometers.
The same wide-area idea moved onto U.S. streets when Persistent Surveillance Systems flew planes over Baltimore for the Police Department’s 2020 Aerial Investigation Research pilot. On June 24, 2021, the Fourth Circuit, in Leaders of a Beautiful Struggle v. Baltimore Police Department, held that warrantless access to that city-wide movement record is a Fourth Amendment search.
No federal statute sets altitude, retention, or notice rules for wide-area airborne video over cities. Read the Fourth Circuit opinion and DARPA’s ARGUS-IR program page. Ask a city council whether any vendor has pitched persistent aerial motion imagery and whether a warrant would be required before rewind.

The most despicable part of the raid? The park rangers returned alongside these ICE agents to execute the arrests.

Flock Safety’s director of market management, Caity Peak, ran a November 2025 webinar on FlockOS real-time crime centers. 404 Media published the recording on 3 September 2026. Peak walked a Denver-mapped dashboard that combined a protest “response plan,” traffic layer, building floor plans, and live camera feeds, and told incident commanders they could watch a No Kings crowd move through a park without putting officers inside it.
That training sits on top of a documented search trail. EFF’s 20 November 2025 analysis of more than 12 million Flock queries from 3,900-plus agencies found hundreds of protest-tagged lookups, including 19 agencies that ran searches tied to the June and October 2025 No Kings rallies. Separate 404 Media and EFF work had already shown agencies querying the network for an “immigration protest.”
Denver is not only a slide. The Denver Post reported that all seven of the department’s drone “overwatch” flights in its Skydio pilot landed on 18 October 2025, the city’s No Kings date, and that a no-cost Flock drone-as-first-responder contract was signed in August 2025. Colorado Newsline recorded the mayor’s office extending the 111-camera ALPR contract to March 2026 after a town hall that followed the same weekend of marches.
The product can be used for stolen-car recovery; Denver officials cite that use. The open question is whether city contracts or state law will bar protest-name queries and live-feed overwatch of First Amendment events, or leave the webinar’s playbook as default.

The text would let state and local air agencies decide whether, when, and how long to offer public notice and comment on minor New Source Review permits. Those permits cover new minor sources and minor modifications, including diesel and gas generator fleets at data centers and some power-plant additions. Dual-use is procedural: the same discretion that shortens routine filings can close the only federal window many residents have before construction starts.
The proposal is not a final rule. Comments closed 21 August 2026. EPA spokesperson Carolyn Holran told The Verge the agency was still reviewing more than 4,900 submissions and that emission standards themselves would not change. Administrator Lee Zeldin has separately described EPA’s job as cutting “burdensome” permitting so the United States can become “the AI capital of the world.” Heatmap Pro and Embold Research, polling 2,045 registered voters 8–13 August 2026, found 75 percent would oppose a data center near their home, up from a near split in August 2025.
Trajectory is fifty years of one standard. The 1973 public-participation rule did not split major from minor NSR. Southern Environmental Law Center and nearly 200 groups filed 21 August comments listing about fifty cases where notice produced tighter controls or monitoring. Sierra Club counted 10,500 standby generators at Northern Virginia data centers. xAI’s Colossus site in Tennessee drew a hearing after a minor-source filing. States can keep notice; the proposal removes the federal floor.
Net risk is opacity, not a new emission limit. If finalized, a state could issue a minor permit with no published draft and no 30-day comment. Oversight then sits in State Implementation Plan revisions and later lawsuits, not a mandatory local hearing. EPA still must answer the docket before any change takes effect.

Waymo LLC, an Alphabet Inc. subsidiary, runs driverless Jaguar I-PACE and purpose-built robotaxis whose external cameras, LiDAR, and radar exist to keep the vehicle in its operational design domain. The same stack continuously images streets, windshields, storefronts, and people who never booked a ride. Waymo’s Services Privacy Policy states that while testing and improving the service it processes “limited personal data relating to public individuals,” and that this data “may include faces of individuals and vehicle licence plates.” The cameras-and-microphones help page says the company does not use facial recognition or other biometric identification to identify people. Those two sentences can both be true: pixels of faces and plates are collected for perception and model improvement without a named-identity lookup. Dual use is structural. A perception camera pointed through a neighboring windshield is also a record of who was where. Unlike Flock Safety ALPR poles, which are sold to police as a lookup network, Waymo’s product is a moving sensor platform whose bystander imagery is a side effect of driving—and still personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act.
Waymo does not publish a Google-style transparency report of how many warrants, subpoenas, or emergency requests it receives or how many it narrows or rejects. WIRED documented that Mesa and Chandler police in Arizona have sought Waymo footage since 2016; TechCrunch counted at least nine search warrants in San Francisco and Maricopa County by 2023. The company’s first-responder protocol directs agencies to waymolawenforcement@google.com and says data is produced only under “proper legal process.” Co-CEO Tekedra Mawakana and subsequent spokespeople say over-broad requests are challenged. That policy is not a substitute for counts. Retention is described as “reasonably necessary” and, in an August 2026 Nashville Banner interview, as case-by-case for system improvement. San Francisco police once arrived with a warrant after the clip had already been deleted; San Mateo police received cabin-related material after a Waymo flagged two teenage riders. Parked vehicles continue to perceive. A research agreement with Nexar exists; Waymo denies a Flock-style sharing partnership. Bystanders have no trip-history screen and no practical CCPA deletion path for a face captured at an intersection.
Remote assistance is the other documented offshore surface. In a 17 February 2026 letter to Sen. Edward J. Markey, Waymo’s Ryan McNamara wrote that about 70 remote-assistance agents are on duty at a time across four sites—Arizona, Michigan, and two cities in the Philippines—with roughly half the shift in the Philippines. Median one-way latency is given as about 150 milliseconds domestically and 250 milliseconds abroad. Waymo states those agents advise the automated driving system and do not steer; Event Response Team work, including first-responder contact, is reserved for U.S. staff. The Senate record still shows overseas contractors receiving scene context from U.S. public roads. Markey treated that as a safety and cybersecurity question. Waymo treated it as scale. Neither description creates a public audit of what camera frames those desks can pull, for how long, or under whose employment-screening standard.
Net risk is a privately owned street-level archive that is denser than a fixed ALPR grid, travels into neighborhoods Flock may not have bid, and answers to warrants rather than to a published retention schedule. California SB 34 limits how local ALPR networks share with out-of-state and federal users; no equivalent statute tells a robotaxi how long it may keep a bystander’s plate or which foreign operations center may view a live assist clip. NHTSA Standing General Order crash reporting and California DMV AV rules address collisions and tickets, not bystander video. Oversight that stops at “we do not run facial recognition” leaves the pixels, the warrants, the parked-car recordings, and the Philippine assist desks outside routine public accounting. The comparison to Flock is not that Waymo is an ALPR vendor. It is that a ride-hail fleet can function as one without calling itself one.

On Reddit, when they released their top 10 most addicted Reddit cities in 2013, it was exposed that the number one city is quite literally Eglin Air Force Base. Reddit quickly removed their top 10 board, but not before the internet noticed. Eglin Air Force Base is where the US military runs its Reddit manipulation campaign. They use tens of thousands of bot accounts to downvote posts they don't want to go viral and decide what people get to see. It all appears natural, but it is not.
Other examples include ones right here on Twitter. Accounts like Eyal Yakoby, Vivid Prowess, and Laura Loomer are obvious examples.
This account, SBS, has managed to map out the posting schedule of many propaganda accounts. They are able to predict with 95% or more accuracy when these Israeli propaganda accounts will post, down to the precise minute and what they will post. Israel sees the information war as its eighth front war and is taking it very seriously. They are paying hundreds of millions in a campaign to game AI models like ChatGPT, and it is working. They also invested around $1 billion on influencers and geofencing campaigns targeting American taxpayers and specifically American Christians. They are also paying influencers to convince people that there is no starvation in Gaza, even while people are starving to death on livestreams.
A great video to watch and show your loved ones is Harrison Smith's video, which clearly shows what they are up to. In the coming weeks, you can expect a large campaign to convince Westerners that Turkey is a target. Expect to see a lot more of this kind of stuff.
