From Black and White to Bhagwa: Symbolism or Smart Governance?

The Uttar Pradesh government has reportedly ordered road dividers that were already painted in the standard black-and-white pattern to be repainted in saffron and white.

The move has triggered criticism from sections of the public and opposition voices, who argue that spending public money on cosmetic colour changes serves little practical purpose.

Critics also claim the decision could affect road visibility and safety, since black and white stripes are traditionally used because of their higher contrast, especially at night and during poor weather conditions.

Some have described the repainting exercise as an example of political symbolism being prioritised over governance and infrastructure needs.

India's top 1% earns ₹3 lakh or more every month and a standard 2BHK in Mumbai costs between ₹2 to ₹3 crore.

A man recently went viral after doing the exact math if someone from India's top 1% saves every single rupee they earn, spends nothing on food, pays no rent, buys no clothes it will still take them 8 full years to afford that flat.

And that is India's top earner. Not the middle class. Not the delivery boy working 12 hours a day. Not the teacher earning ₹35,000 a month.

For them, a Mumbai home is not a distant dream. According to this video it is mathematically impossible.

🚨2 IMPROVEMENT EXAMS 🚨

We Deserve a fair chance. The emotional weight of a fair chance in improvement exams is a mix of high-stakes anxiety and a deep desire for justice. When a single grading error or restrictive policy stands between you and your future, a fair shot isn't just a policy preference-it's your entire trajectory. From next year CBSE might even implement improvement sessions for class 12th too. It is unpredictable. OSM would be likely introduced to class 10th as well. It is just our batch that'll be suffering.

A single-subject improvement limit provides negligible relief. It is unreasonable and shortsightedness for CBSE to not consider proper improvement methods for crucial class 12th boards. If someone falls sick for say 2 weeks during exams and they have maybe 2 or 3 exams to give their best into during that time or say someone with severe mental health issues messes up on the exam day twice or more; would a Gap year or single subject improvement really be the best fit for them? If CBSE is genuinely committed to student welfare and mental health, it must immediately expand the July supplementary options to at least two or three subjects for Class 12. People need to fulfill their 75% criterias. Not everyone is incompetent, issues beyond papers exist.

2 improvement exams at least are a definite need for a majority of people. I am not blaming osm. All I have to say is that if class 10th had 2 exam sessions this year- then class 12th definitely should get a chance for improvement too. We all know CBSE is well aware of how crucial improvement exams are for us class 12th students and that we have a larger no. Of students giving them. I heard it in an interview of the controller of cbse that the only reason osm was introduced to class 12th was that a no. Of students in class 12th is lesser than no. Of students in class 10th. So it is all just testing for them.

Tbh it is just ragebaiting for them to not include class 12th for improvement sessions. I mean that's what literally ALOT of us needed. Well, now the best they could do is atleast increase the no. Of July Supplementary/Compartment exams to 2 or 3.I am aware the results are going to come by August 1 and it'll not be a huge advantage for many of us. But for those who are thinking of giving improvement for multiple exams will have relief and benefit off it after all and maybe alot would not need to wait till next year incase they just wanted to improve 2-3 subjects only and get ahead to a new journey of life. It'll be the only chance and hope for those who cannot wait till next year to improve their marks.

The thing is supplementary exams just being for one subject is very unreasonable on our end. If CBSE really cares for student's welfare(i suppose that was the reason class 10th got actual improvement exams) and mental health, they could've addressed this problem before since they know a huge no. Of Students give exam next year as a private candidate in class 12th. It is high time WE address this issue.

The main problem is we're all neglecting and sidelining 2 improvement exams issue- it's more of a secondary or less important issue during our previous tries and protests. This time of 5-10 days is peak for us to protest and get this issue on a large scale since CBSE is a hot topic for the media.

We've raised our voices before and have seen noticeable changes- if we try again we can change this too. All I can do is raise my voice and highlight this issue, I'll repost if it doesn't reach out to a lot. Please do your part. Some of us REALLY need it. Those who protest or are still not satisfied by CBSE and take actions on it, please make this issue a priority.

PLEASE UPVOTE FOR BETTER REACH

How to combat hatred

In the current political scenario, every way of discrimination is being utilised to create division be it race, language, religion you name it.

It's necessary to disagree and not hate at the same time. We are fighting for a nation for all of us. It doesn't make sense to divide ourselves in the process of finding a solid.

Hatred is being cultivated and weaponised Let's not provide them with ammunition

Don't let the people you oppose feel hated rather heard. One may use the Socratic method for them to themselves realise the absurdity of their assumptions.

Solution: Genuine compassion

Edited to rephrase sentences for clarity

Why does nobody talk about political party structure? Here is a proposal for a truly decentralized, bottom-up CJP.

There is almost no discussion about what the internal structure of a political party should look like. If we want reforms within our political landscape, reforming party structure is the first indispensable step. Without this, any new party will just replicate the same old problems. To fix this, I propose a blueprint for the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP). Why cockroaches? Because the existing political landscape is a nuclear wasteland, and only a truly resilient, bottom-up, scuttling mass of organized citizens can survive it. Here is my critique of the current system and our proposal for a new, democratic alternative.

Problems with Existing Party Structures

  • Hyper-Centralized: Power is concentrated at the very top. A few dinosaurs rule, completely forgetting that dinosaurs go extinct while insects survive.
  • Disempowered Workers: Ground-level workers have no say in decision-making or selecting election candidates. They do all the crawling, but the elites get the crumbs.
  • Top-Down Dictates: Local party units have no say in upper units and lack independence.
  • Personality-Driven & Dynastic: Parties revolve around high-profile individuals or families rather than institutions.
  • Zero Dissent: No competing ideologies or internal dissent are tolerated. Spray a little criticism, and you get exterminated.
  • Misplaced Priorities: National or emotional issues dominate elections, completely ignoring actual local issues, which are the most important.

Proposal for the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) Structure

1. The Foundation: Local Chapters (LC)

  • Membership: A person registers as a party member and is officially designated a Cockroach. A Cockroach can be part of one Local Chapter (LC) and can easily scuttle from one LC to another.
  • Scale: A minimum colony of 1,000 Cockroaches is required to form one Local Chapter (LC).
  • Leadership: Each LC is governed by a 10-member Local Governing Committee (LGC), elected exclusively by that LC's local Cockroaches.
  • Geography: One or more administrative units (ward, tehsil, district, assembly, Lok Sabha) can fall under one LC. Conversely, a single administrative unit can have multiple competing LCs (may the best colony win).
  • The Core Feature (Primaries): When an election for an administrative unit is due, the associated LCs conduct internal primary elections to choose a candidate to fight the election. Upper units have zero power in candidate selection. If the high command tries to interfere, we hiss at them. This is the most crucial, uncompromisable aspect of the party.
  • Population Control (Checks and Balances):
    • If the number of Cockroaches drops below 900, the LC is declared defunct and cannot hold the next election for the LGC (the current 5-year tenure is just allowed to finish out).
    • If the population drops below 500, the LC is completely dissolved.
    • A new LC can only be formed when 1,000 Cockroaches aggregate, and their charter must be granted by an existing LC’s LGC after verifying eligibility.

2. The Upper Tiers (The Multi-Tiered Infestation)

  • Upper Governing Committee (UGC): LGCs from 100 LCs (representing 1,000 committee members total) elect a 10-member Upper Governing Committee (UGC). A single State can have as many UGCs as can be formed based on this math.
  • State Level Committee (SLC): All UGC members elect the SLC at a strict ratio of 1 SLC member per 10 UGC members.
  • National Council: All SLC members from all States collectively elect the ultimate National Council.

3. Rules, Eligibility, and the Hive Mandate

  • The Democratic Mechanism: All Party elections, including the highly crucial internal primaries, are held using a Rated Voting System. In this system, voters express their true preferences by scoring every single candidate on a defined scale (like 0 to 5) rather than just picking one, ensuring the candidate with the highest overall satisfaction wins.
  • Education: We may be Cockroaches, but we are educated ones. All members of the LGC, UGC, SLC, and National Council must have a minimum education qualification of graduation or its equivalent.
  • Term Limits: To prevent any single insect from becoming a dictator, all the above-mentioned committee members are subject to a strict 2-term limit and a 5-year tenure per term. No forever-leaders allowed.

Conclusion

By structuring a party this way, it can become a truly democratic, decentralized, bottom-up organization that can survive any political climate change. I have deeper thoughts and ideas regarding this structure, but I wanted to lay out the framework first. All comments, suggestions, and criticisms are welcome! Let’s scuttle toward a better future.
