Flock's surveillance cameras went from scattered dots to covering America in less than two years

This map shows the increase in Flock cameras over a 2 year period.

The top image is November 18, 2024.
The bottom image is August 17, 2026.

Those blue dots are reported automated license plate reader cameras across the U.S.

In 2024, the map was still relatively sparse. By 2026, huge parts of the country are covered in blue.

And this is only a crowdsourced map, meaning these are just the cameras people have actually found and reported.

Heard a future felon talk about mounting a green laser to an autonomous drone he’s building that has flock locations uploaded 😡

I told him he’s a bad American for doing this! It could hit several dozen locations a day in a completely autonomous way before needing refueling.

I hope he thinks twice about building and uploading the specs of this relatively cheap drone to GitHub.

“Dale, a reciprocating saw is an inefficient tool for cutting aluminum tubing. The aluminum shavings clog up the blade, and that’s just not how you’re supposed to use that saw. A Skilsaw is faster, cleaner, and more reliable for cutting aluminum tubing. That’s what I would use.” -Hank Hill

Flock ALPR geolocation

Hi there, ya filthy animals. I noticed my neighbors have a beheaded Flock camera hanging in their garage almost like it's a trophy animal. (Maybe it is to some...)

Just wondering. Is there any chatter on the street indicating these things may have geolocating services? Wondering if my neighbor is courting a knock at the door from a costumed with a badge and a warrant.

To clarify:

I did not witness a crime occurring, do not endorse breaking laws, and for all I know he's an employee/instal tech for Flock. Just asking questions, of course. I'm sure you all understand.

What’s the best way to hypothetically deflock?

let’s say, just food for thought, that I dont want a surveillance state for some ungodly reason, and I want to deflock, god forbid. unfortunately I don’t have access to to a laser, so what should i hypothetically do?
