For a group that has a narrow majority of the electorate, why do North Carolina Republicans not exist as normal people?

It seems like every single one in politics is some sort of crazed, Democrat-hating partisan. And the few that exist on social media are similar. Yet they are a narrow majority.

Are they all really frothing liberal haters who only vote R and hate women and trans people?

Retired NC Judges Criticize NC Supreme Court Over Leandro in Open Letter

"We need justices and judges in our courts who believe in our constitutional rights and have the courage to enforce them. We need judges who will act independently and promptly and who won’t hide behind manufactured procedural barriers. That is their job."

Is this budget manipulation real?

This was sent out by Down Home. The gymnastics republicans will do to underfund the public is becoming unreal!

Jeff Jackson is in support of a surveillance state

This week, Asheville City Council voted to expand surveillance through a Real Time Intelligence Center for the Asheville Police Department. Jeff Jackson sent a letter to the mayor, which was read on record. Here is the YouTube of the meeting, skip to 5:11 where the Mayor of Asheville reads what Jeff Jackson wrote.

He talks about being skeptical, guardrails and narrow or broader ways that technology can be deployed. He says that APD is making the "narrower choice" in regards to facial recognition, data sharing, etc. Winston-Salem, High Point, Buncombe have deployed this already to great success.

Jeff Jackson should not ever be in favor for additional surveillance / police state, esp with a large software company who has been known to share data with immigration, across state lines, etc. Incredibly disappointing. Shame on him and getting in the middle of a very complicated matter that impacts every day citizens while targeting the poor and black & brown bodies. Gross.

All roads lead to the South: solidarity for voting rights!

ALL HANDS ON DECK: A NATIONAL RALLY FOR VOTING RIGHTS

They fought for this. They bled for this. And now, piece by piece, it's being taken away. Let's show up in solidarity with our brethren in Selma!

The right to vote was never freely given — it was demanded, marched for, legislated in blood. Today, that legislation is being gutted in statehouses across this country. Voter rolls are being purged. Polling places are vanishing. ID requirements are being weaponized. And silence is not an option.

This is a call to every organizer, every congregation, every young person who has never seen a march but always knew one might be necessary. This is the moment.

New times demand new tactics — economic pressure, digital organizing, culture, faith, and mass presence on the ground. But what doesn't change is this: when people show up, things shift.

We are not going back. We are going further. The Fight Isn't Over. It's Just Getting Started.

New data center moratorium for NC - Possible or Not?

The new AI-centric data centers are resource hogs that will overload our existing power grid and drive up energy costs for everybody. With all the money being spent to buy up local politicians, especially in areas targeted by the corporations that build these things, do you think there's any chance that we could get a regional or statewide moratorium on building new data centers without strong protections for other businesses and consumers?

The company that sells EpiPens drove the price up 6x, we had evidence they broke the law to do it, so we went after them and got an $11m settlement and lower out-of-pocket costs going forward. - AG Jeff Jackson

Reasons to Vote: Suspend the Gas Tax but not rescind the tax cuts for the wealthy or corporations.

President Trump is pitching suspending the gas tax short term due to the high gas prices.

Great,I think that will help. But when it comes time to vote in Nov. please remember our national debt is at all times high and this is going to results in even less revenue coming in.

And remember, the President and the GOP refuse to even bring up for a vote the concept of a windfall profits TAX on oil companies as they make record profits or discussing the concept of not cutting the taxes for the rich or corporations.

Such as Exxon, who is committed to buying back 30B in shares. So money that won't go to improve plants / won't go as bonuses for people below the Director level and it won't go to taxes that pays for things like the Exxon Valdez clean up which if case you didn't know is still going on or more specifically is still needed. But Exxon is doing nothing to help, just left it to the taxpayers of AK and the US.

We need to get money out of politics, please vote this Nov. and demand more from all politicians.

FYI: Before most of our politician were bought and paid for they would levy special taxes to pay down debt. We need to demand whoever is in power do it again and soon.

If they can do it to pay down the Korean war we can do it for this new war.
