Y-Wing and Snowspeeder Complete!

Man, if there's one word I can use to describe assembling the Y-Wing, it's pedantic. So many tiny pieces that you'll never see. So many zero margin for error multiple simultsneous connections, some of them completely blind, being blocked by other parts and you're just farting around with the tweezers trying to make it through. I get that the point of these is the fun of assembly but, to quote Family Guy, it insists upon itself. Not for the faint of heart, thought I was going to have an aneurysm getting the engines in. Took me two weeks working an hour or so an evening, with a few off days.

On the opposite end, the snow speeder was fun and just challenging enough in my opinion. Took me about 3 days.

Tools in Carry-On Bag?

EDIT: made it through without even a secondary search. Let's hope I get as lucky on my return trip.

Original post below:

Hey folks, I'm going on a short trip to visit family for the weekend. I'll have some downtime in the evenings and I'm considering bringing a model to assemble and my tools (link below).

Do you think TSA will be upset if I bring my tools in my Carry-On?

More Star Wars, Star Destroyer and Darth Vader's Tie Fighter

Sorry if I'm posting too much. The rest of my models don't come for about a week or so, so y'all will at least have a break haha.

Both of these were fun. I would say the tie fighter was more difficult. I had to take it apart when I realized I had put the wings in exactly 90° off where they should be but if I paid closer attention to context clues I don't think I would have made that mistake. The engines on the star destroyer were the only thing that anyone might call a challenge. A fair amount of the pieces are just flat "filler" that slot right into a flat section and just lay on the surface to give more texture that for whatever reason wasn't already engraved in (likely just to up the piece count and give you, the builder, more to do).

Loving the Star Wars Sets

Two opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of difficulty (in my opinion), AT-ST took me multiple days, AT-AT maybe an hour and a half. Such a fun hobby. Seeing all the retired sets on their website makes me sad though. 3rd and 4th sets completed!

Falcon Complete! (Second Model)

This went together much quicker than the X-Wing. Fully expected to have to burn a few days on this rather than a few hours but definitely fun. Obviously nothing in comparison to some of the builds on here but I've been really enjoying the hobby and how welcoming the community is!

Just finished my first model

Hey guys, total newbie to the hobby. I think I dove in too deep and initially started with the Dark Knight Tumbler. It was too difficult more me and I ended up breaking it but I was having fun so I figured I'd start with some easier ones and get the right tools. Anyways, just finished this X-Wing and bought a Millennium Falcon and Tie Fighter that I'm going to do next.

Any tool recommendations would be appreciated! I have a basic set I found on Amazon for $10.
