1931 Ford Model A
Somethin' 'Bout a Truck - Kip Moore

Somethin' 'Bout a Truck - Kip Moore
So I recently got a laser cutter and this is my first foray into using it. I plan to do a more complex base for the Hogwarts 2 part set (the non-ME one) but wanted to get a handle on something simpler as a learning piece.

Nice model. Pretty easy, honestly, but don’t forget to put that rear mast on before you button up the hull. UV cured epoxy came in handy.
Next, onward to the Piececool LC-39 Launch Pad.
Definitely get an assistant. It's extra helpful if they lay right on the pieces.
I see a lot of people new to this hobby asking for advice, so I made this video to try and help. Hopefully this beginner tutorial for Metal Earth can save a newcomer a few mistakes.
I found the lamp on cpop universe before the price increased so much. I admit I still overpayed for it, but I REALLY wanted the lantern. It came with two gifts, a calendar and a lantern stick. I love comparing it to the magnet. It’s simply gorgeous and a very fun build. I put all the beads and gems on the pieces before assembly. Once you place the light you can’t remove it and I can’t get my finger inside to turn it on. I have to use a chopstick. I think it’s a few cm longer than the stated dimensions. No stand is included.

What is Dead may never Die
....except for masts, may they die a thousand times.
For reference, I’m an extremely experienced LEGO collector as well as a novice model builder. My only experience with these guys beforehand was the occasional stocking-stuffer I got (and broke immediately) as a child and could never master it. I feel like I have what it takes now. Any suggestions on if I need any more equipment or how to effectively build these? Also, did I do a good job at picking up sets that are both good entry gates as well as being challenging enough? Thanks!!
So I have a confession. I have no recollection of ordering this but it showed up on my doorstep the other day and somehow… I did order it. Which makes no sense because why would I only order half of it rather than both sides.
🤪
I was pleasantly surprised, it’s fairly well thought out and the layered crenellations on the astronomy tower look wonderful. Paint job is ok though it’s one of those heavy lacquer kinds of paint jobs so be careful of chipping.
And now that I’ve done it, had to get the other side. I think when I get it all I’ll laser cut a base for it.
Anyway happy building all!
A very nice model with high details from Piececool, not difficult to build it, it makes fun and the result is stunning, a supercar with beautiful colors.
The last image shows the size difference with the hypercar old model from Ironstar.
Hi!
Just got the nine heavens boat as a gift. I have never built any metal puzzle in my life and just built a couple of plastic models when I was a kid more than 40 years ago.
I have no clue if I would have the patience to build it.
On top of that I have hardly any tools. I watched this video https://youtu.be/JULGbwPYAos?si=Djq0PXZkVcnMOIT3 that suggests "optional" but very convenient tools.
So my questions:
- Is it a good idea to start with this model?
- Would you advise to start with something smaller to get used to the construction? I'm pretty scared of doing something wrong that would mess up the whole thing
- Any other advice?
Thanks a bunch!
This is the way!
My first metal earth figure, 10th build.
Saving IG11 for when I feel a bit more confident with the figures.
The blue circle is bent 90 degrees, which I haven't really had a problem with until now. Everything up to this point has not been painted. However, this model, Ecto-1, is painted, and now I'm curious. Is it exactly 90 degrees? Or do I bend the tabs all the way against the side, or do I leave them the way they are in the photo? If I bend them all the way, it will show against the paint. Or is it intended to be so minute that it's not noticeable? I looked at the picture on the package, but you can't really tell. What are the opinions here?
Its been many years in the making. Today I decided to count my collection size. Both built and not built. A member in this group was nice enough to sell me my "grail" to finish the metal earth collection. With how old some of the piececool models are i don't think I will ever complete that collection but always on the hunt!
My goal some day is to eventually have a miniature metal museum sort of like a road side attraction for people to come visit.
Built: 301
Not built: 654
Building: 5
The chase is always on. Happy hunting!
Found and bought it on Temu and got it today in the mail. The name of the model is unclear, after translating the 2 chinese letters with google it resulted the word Mela, no sure if is a personal name or if it means anything.
It surprised that it is a large model (I can't say exactly how many parts it has) initially it wasn't shown to be a 2d -> 3d model, but that it would already have built parts such as the body and claws.
For now it will stay in my backlog until I find time to build it ;-)
Chose this one literally randomly out of my backlog. This is actually one of the new transformers that I think they did well with. Honestly the transformers movies did best with the small scale robots than with the larger main characters imo.
He’s got a wonderful paint job here and is pretty easy to assemble… other than that crest on the chest plate which is difficult to get the top tab in place on the chest because you can’t see well into the space to get it lined up. Also requires a pair of needle nose tweezers to get the tab bent once in place. Your standard pliers or tweezers isn’t up to the job.
Anyway
Happy Building all!!
Arrived today, can’t wait to build it.
P.S. Looks like MU may be rebranding as ARTYIMO. I’ve started seeing some older kits pop up under the new name.
+ couple progress pics. Pretty straightforward build. The white pieces have a different texture to them so they look more like exterior car pieces, I thought that was neat.
